Saints are really rolling with just the QB's on the roster?

The Rookie may work out but we've seen how bad Haener and Rattler are. Both these guys are 3rd place backups at best. We have no one in the ranks incase Shough goes down or is worse.

What are the saints thinking?

This season is about striking gold with a rookie QB or trying again next year.

They’re thinking that in 2026 a #1 pick is better than a #5 pick!

We'll find out for sure post June 1st. Looks like we MIGHT be in line for a comp pick if we don't sign anyone before then.

Yes they are and this is a perfect situation QB wise for the Saints.

They are rebuilding. They don’t need a high level QB right now they need young cheap QB options that have potential to become the long term answer. If none of these guys work out so what. Go get another one. And keep building the test of the team so that when the hit on a QB or at in a position to draft a franchise level high 1st round QB they will have the team already built.

Also don’t sleep on Rattler. He’s got all the talent in the world. He just needs to put it together. Maybe he does maybe he doesn’t. Never hurts to try.

I’d love to see Rattler get it together this year. Dudes still got amazing arm talent. Now he gets a fresh reset with a much improved line. If him or Shuck are legit, we’ll win a few more games and have a decision to make going into the ‘26 draft. If not, we’ll have a top 3 draft pick for our franchise QB.

If we signing mid guys like Cooks, on a rebuilding team, I dint think they care about comp picks.

What were you expecting from Rattler or Haener last season with that O-line, no receiving threat, and the coaching dysfunction?

They’re thinking it’s a slow process. There’s no free agent qb available who’s affordable so
they’re going to make do as best they can.

From Wiki - Purdy began his rookie season in the NFL as the third-string quarterback but took the starting role following injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo. Winning all five regular-season games that he started, Purdy played a key role in the 49ers' ten-game winning streak, securing a division title and an NFC Championship Game appearance. Purdy continued as the 49ers' starting quarterback in the 2023 season, where he led them to a repeat division title and led the league in multiple passing categories before an appearance in Super Bowl LVIII. Purdy also set the franchise's single-season passing yards record and earned his first Pro Bowl selection.
