The Saints have restructured the contracts of QB Taysom Hill, CB Bradley Roby, LB DeMario Davis and S Malcolm Jenkins to clear major cap space, per source. The Saints are now officially at $29.9M in cap space ??

Wonder if they got word from Watson that he was going to choose them.

Even if Watson doesn't come to us, maybe they're clearing space to pursue Baker?

You don’t just push $30 million to future years for no reason. There has to be a transaction coming. You would assume a couple of players would be involved in a Watson deal and would be tacked on to this amount as well.

Gonna be disappointed when that space is used to pay Winston and some scrub TE

Still leaves McCoy, Ruiz, and Adebo as tradeable players.

Trade for Watson. Extend his contract and create the cap space to sign Armstead and Landry.

Why would you want to trade adebo? He was a starting corner for us last year on a pretty cheap rookie contract. The only way you may trade him is if you are getting watson other than that it is pointless

That is the only way we trade him.

That's a $100 million turnaround.

To go from 70M over to 30M under, is proof I should never doubt Loomis and his magical ink pen.

We have to be at 35 million under to accept Watson in a deal.

We can then immediately restructure him to create a ton of cap room, or we can give Houston something extra in the trade to restructure him themselves, then trade him, so we don't have to eat anything.

Yeah, this is a good sign.

Baker's cap hit is less than $19M. And if they were trading for someone else, it would be Jimmy G who would have a $24M cap hit
