When Loomis retires, the Saints better get a 1st round draft pick for compensation. He is too damn valuable

I could see him retiring after this season.

I believe the outgoing players would get that number down as well. If it is CGJ, it is $2.5 million dollar cap savings. Adebo, Trautman, Werner only give you like $500k in cap space each. Turner is like a 6 million dollar cap hit, if I am reading this correctly. Ruiz looks to be like 7 million, while McCoy only gives you a 600k savings.
Looks like it is going to be CGJ

I think it will be CGJ and Ruiz.
Saints will probably sign another vet or two.

Why would you want to trade adebo?
Still have Lattimore and Roby, so Adebo is expendable.

I guess if you kick it every year it never comes due!

or we can give Houston something extra in the trade to restructure him themselves, then trade him, so we don't have to eat anything.
Loomis going to ask the Texans to let him remote into their computer to restructure his contract.

So all of this restructuring, was this necessary for our current cap situation regardless of Watson?

Restructures, trades, cuts…. Something has to be done to get under the cap regardless of Watson .
Same thing next year.
Same thing next year.

Honestly, I am not sure why Loomis is still our GM. He should be president of the team. Let Ireland run the day to day stuff. Mickey has been running the Saints for 20 years. Hell, I think Ms. B should leave the team to him, rather than selling it.
