Sources: The #Saints are expected to retain star WR Michael Thomas on an incentive-laden one-year deal to keep him in New Orleans for the 2023 season. One of the NFL’s best when healthy, Thomas sticks with his new QB Derek Carr.

I'm OK with it....Carr throwing to Olave and a bunch of seat fillers was a recipe for disaster.

seems to be a fair deal for both sides. MT had nuked much of his stock the past 2 seasons so now he can bet on himself and try to get 1 more pay day

Best for both sides.

He balls out, he gets a huge payday from someone else.

He continues to get hurt, we keep him for cheap...again.

It also allows us to seemingly make reaching or FA signing less likely to retain our comp picks

What a waste of money. Incentives don’t motivate lazy people.

Amazing off-season so far. Now if we take our new cap space and sign Ashawn Robison or Poona Ford, we’re in solid shape.

Hurt and lazy aren't the same thing.

it better include deductions for every game he misses for a sore vagina or this was a very bad thing.

at least it saves on the cap space because i dont think he makes it the full season

Not sure their numbers have caught up just yet but they're saying still ~$4.6 Mill over the roster and ~$550,000 under the top 51.

A motivated Michael Thomas on your team is always a good thing.

I’m more excited that the players seem to be excited that Carr has joined the team.

But if he fails to achieve any incentives, he still gets 10 mil?

Sounds great for MT. Sounds like wasting 10 mil though to me.
