Pretty sure this is the 1st time the Superdome end zones are painted in fully for a Saints game since switching over from Astroturf to the synthetic grass stuff in like 2002 or 2003
Obviously they've been fully painted in for the Super Bowls it's hosted since & maybe a college championship game (I don't think they were filled in for CFP/BCS games but maybe they did once I'm not remembering)?

Midseason or towards the end of 2004. It’s when they got rid of the old astroturf and put in the new stuff.

I wonder if they'll paint the end zones to match the uniforms every week this season
Maybe do black (like the old Astroturf at the end) in combination with the classic uniforms... though I imagine it'll just be back to regular green with the Saints word mark in black outlined in gold
Some kind of white look for the color rush but I have no clue how that would come out
