while the Saints stay pat. Atlanta's offense looks scary and the Bucs have kept their best players. The Saints are going to be fighting the Panthers for bottom of the division.

We are in cap hell. What did you expect? I'm just glad we aren't kicking too many cans down the line.

They could make room if they wanted to... see Carr last year when we had no money.

Sure we could extend Carr to 2035

Isn't that what people said last year?

They gave a significant raise to a journeyman QB who got them all the way to 9-8 last season.
As for the Saints, the only name of any note they seem to have lost is Michael Thomas (who hasn't actually played in 5 years) and a backup QB.
I suppose you could be upset the Saints haven't made any big moves in free agency (though I don't know why anyone expected they would). But I'd argue all Atlanta and Tampa did was put themselves in the same spot the Saints did last year. That is committing a lot of money to a mid-tier QB that COULD produce big results...but probably won't given their career histories to date.

There were serious questions about their QB, but the skill position players all looked good. I don’t know think anyone counted on the coach opting to split time with journeyman players at TE and RB over their top 10 picks

Yep all 3 are playing to win a bad division and make the playoffs. If you get lucky like Tampa last year and catch a team collapsing maybe win the WC round but that’s it.

Well the Saints have limited FA dollars to spend soo...
Let me guess. You guys would rather they extend and restructure everyone the ycan to get a little FA money to spend on more aging vets that the can restructure and extend in the future.
If you're one of the ones that have been crying cap hell and the Saints need to stop spending money drunken sailors then sit back and enjoy.
They've restructured who they had to to get under the cap, now they should be tight fisted with thye little money they have.

Saints have no funds to make any moves right now. Players leaving doesn't hurt the team. So far, we are in good shape.

Maybe the players available aren’t worth the money commanded

No FA will sign with us if they won’t get their money until 2040.
We continue to extend dated players to get under the cap, barely leaving room for rookie class.

Quick let’s make a reactionary signing and get saddled with an albatross contract !

This was a good plan when Saints were contending. Now it's just dumb. Rip the band aid off and let's get this over with. Because doing all this for 8-9 seasons ain't it.

you don't understand how this process works
and you think we shouldn't have extended Demario and Tyrann?

Problem is Mickey is a proxy owner. Neither he nor Dennis will admit that everything needed to be burnt to the ground because the NFC South is weak.

Would you rather:
1) Kick debt to next year while signing long term/overpriced free agents and finish season 7-10
2) Pay off debt next couple years and start rebuild in 2026 with a new QB and New Coach - finish season 3-14
