Mickey’s ego amazes me

Dude could have gone out a saints legend but his ego to prove he and the organization were the secret sauce behind the success has not only exposed him as a fraud but strongly disliked amongst the fans

But the checks will keep coming because his boss is even more inept so I guess he still wins

No one ever does a "great pick at that spot, look at all those right after that failed" lol

Been a few years with the roster Loomis has built to be able to do that with the draft picks he has made.

When you don’t have a single player make any top 100 lists, it’s going to get a spot light shined on it.

I feel like that has been the Saints mindset with drafting every year since and they just won’t let that mindset go no matter how many times it burns them.

Every lineman after fuaga has been massively underwhelming or injury prone. We hit on that comparatively

After watching Achane torch LSU with a limp I was shocked he fell as far as he did in the draft. Seemed like a sure fire change of pace back that could fit any team.

I pointed this very thing out in a Kendre Miller thread and was laughed at. He showed all heart for a game that was meaningless and should not have been playing in. I thought he was the third best running back in the draft.

So Loomis & Co. the only front office that this happens to. You as near as bad a Tigersauras.

The past 5 or 6 years, it’s been happening to Loomis more than anyone. It’s a fact.

If he wasn’t boinking Gale, he would or should have been fired a long time ago.

FOS key is just one miss, but the bigger issue is the plethora of other guys they missed on around the same time.

Iii Ty wouldn’t be do bad, but we missed out on more top picks than we got right.

The Saints scouting has definitely been underperforming for the last 5 or so years. The draft hits have been subpar but the UDFA picks have also been subpar. The OL and WR groups are the worse they have been for a few years now.

My opinion is that player evaluation is both a science and an art that have to be matched together. The Saints seem to have only been using the emotional driven art aspect of scouting. It is as though they are trying to hard to find diamonds in the rough and want to will players into be better than their talent allows them to be.

A player heart and drive is required but just about every college player is going to have high drive to some degree. The scouts have to be able to evaluate if that is intrinsic or based on some other circumstance because if its coming from some other circumstance, then that drive will disappear when that other circumstance is satisfied.

Almost the opposite. We have been using too much science with a very heavy reliance of RAS scores and accolades. We are overlooking the "art" of watching the tape closely enough and trying to interpret what is seen.

Player development has been piss poor as well. Seems like players like Alontae Taylor stay exactly how they were as rookies. Players on this team don’t take the next step.
