14. DEREK CARR, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Last year’s 66.6 PFF grade was the lowest of Carr’s career outside of his rookie season. In what was supposed to be a solid season, Carr’s big plays declined and he was notably less accurate overall. His adjusted completion rate dropped by more than 6 percentage points from the year before to his lowest level since he was a rookie. That likely represents the floor for Carr’s play, and he has typically been a borderline top-10 player over his career.

If we can still be run stout on both sides of ball and produce an above average pass rush we’ll compete. Assuming MT lasts a year… playoff run.

Good lord. Top 6, and 7 out of 8, in the AFC. AFC will be a dog fight and a lot of fun to watch.

I also wonder how much of this ”Carr’s big plays declined and he was notably less accurate overall.” is the McDaniels affect. The only issue I have with his placement (14th overall & 5th in NFC) is I question him being behind Stafford. I personally wouldn’t have him behind Dak either, but I can see the argument.

I think he can be our version of Matthew Stafford. Good player on a horrible team his whole career. He could end up balling out and making a playoff run when in the right situation.

If he’s recovered 12 isn’t unreasonable at all for Stafford.

Agree just sort of noting how sad that list is when a guy can't play but barely over half the season and almost cracks the top 10.

Why would an injury in 2022 affect his ranking for 2023?

Everyone forgets how incredibly smart Carr is. He saw the arms race in the AFC and said frick it, I'm gonna go be a top QB in the NFC. He is literally the only starting QB to do that.

Looking at that list and a crap south division you can see why a org. would try to delay a complete rebuild

After seeing last year 14 seems about right.

I need yall to understand a lot of Derek's issues last year was Josh McDaniels being an absolute shite coach and calling deep shots to davante adams all fricking year. Hes a horrible head coach and I still have no idea why he got hired.

While I do not disagree with you about McDaniels, Carr has had some issues in the past at times with throwing too many INTs.

Very true, but even if you look at our game last year against them, their playcalling was so bad it made Pete look like prime sean payton
