I don't hate PFF I think it's perfectly fine thing to have and look at. I just think it's kinda somewhat in my old man yelling at cloud way, can kinda ruin talking football. Especially when discussing how good a player is or isn't. Too many people solely rely on what PFF says. Maybe ruin was a bad word to use, I can't figure out how to type out what I actually think.

There you go. I'm not being sarcastic, that's actually a good way to put it how I enjoy sports talk.

always tough to give up 2 first, but DE (BIG DE) was a huge need. So many kids come out at tweeters 240 - 255 and we needed a big guy for 4-3. At the right time based off Cam J age too.

Not that easy to get with speed and size to play 3 downs.

Im ok with the move since the FO knew we were going to be in the top 25 thisyr.

For instance, the CB I can't remember his name, had him I believe 2016 and 17, journeyman DB. He was graded bad from a TD bomb he supposedly gave up, Vacarro came out and said that was his fault not the CB, Dennis Allen confirmed that during the interview later in the week. That kind of stuff happens all the time.

That was actually the one in which it was the CBs fault (forgot who) and Vaccaro busted arse to get across the field to make a play because he saw the CB fricked up.

And it was Rob Ryan who agreed and mocked pff for being clueless. It was back in 2013 or 2014.

Unless a reverse scenario of this also happened later, which wouldn't be surprising because pff GREATLY struggles in identifying coverages. It's by far their weakest aspect, with lineman grades being next (on both sides).

That may have been the one, I don’t remember who the CB was. Or maybe the one I said happened also. For some reason I thought I remembered DA commenting, but maybe it was when he was co-coordinator

Everyone will forget about us giving 2 first round picks this year when Davenport has 10 sacks.

It seems that a lot of what they are down on is trading up, generally. I can see where they're coming from, but as you point out, they make too strong a case by assuming the you make the right pick down the line. I agree that it's just too early to assess the Davenport trade.

A legit criticism they only hinted at in the piece is that picking a freak athlete who was raw like Davenport didn't really fit with going all in on winning with Brees last year.

4.5 sacks, 6 Tfls, 12 qb hits, 2 passes defenses in very limited playing time while nursing an injury.

He will be a stud.

Davenport's stats compared to his snap counts is very encouraging on top of his snap counts were largely still hampered by injury.

Zero Worries about MD92's future.

I love how this is downvoted because armchair QB Joe from New Orleans disagrees with what PFF says.

Serious question. I know he had two sacks in a game at some point during the season. Does anyone know how long it's been since a Saints rookie had a multiple sack game? I don't know the answer but I'm guessing it's been a very long time... like maybe all the way back to the Dome Patrol days.

Yeah I turned the video off when they talked about him being outsnapped but failed to mention he was injured.

Because it's useful, but only to a point.

I liken it to the combine. You can perform really well at the combine but it doesn't mean you can play.

Teams use that information from the combine and put it against the tape.

The same way they'll take player grades and put it against the tape.

The problem with PFF is they don't know what someone's assignment was. They can guess but they don't really know.

A quarter can slide the protection and one of the lineman doesn't do it and another lineman can get a bad grade on that play because it wasn't his fault.
