Here's some tape of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and other legends being in awe of his armstrength at the 2002 NFL Quarterback Challenge event held in Hawaii at the Pro-Bowl. Longest throw was 73 yards.

It’s crazy to think Tom Brady has played 14 more years since Aaron Brooks has retired and he’s only 1 year younger than him.

I didnt forget. Also didnt forget how almost useless of a metric arm strength is compared to other attributes for a qb

Jeff Blake had the prettier deep ball though. Blake was great at 50-60 yard passes, but just okay at 10-15 yarders.

Brooks was very athletic too in the beginning and extended a lot of plays. I’ll always be thankful for that first playoff win, but I’ll always remember how he seemed to be apathetic after that second year here and gave up completely in 05.

Don’t forget that the Saints have been around for over 50 years and AB is second or third in almost every quarterback statistic.

I’ve always had some regret with the Saints not going back to Blake the following year.

I appreciate brooks talent but Blake had a veteran presence and seemed very in control. And as far as long ball throwers, Blake was one of the very best during his time

It’s crazy to think how deadly he would be with his skill set and a coach that can open up a playbook. His demise was when Haslett & Sheppard forced him to try and become a pocket passer. Always wondered what Brooks would have done McCarthy became HC

I feel like I remember them giving him another shot after his injury and he was terrible. I could be wrong but I feel like I remember that.

I just remember McCarthy’s last year with NO they made a point to simplify the offense.

Your right. After so many years people had forgot he could throw it a country mile.

It seems you have indeed accomplished something today!

I can throw a football 70 yards. People are usually in awe when they see me do it because they don’t expect it. But that’s not the only thing me and Aaron have in common. Neither of us would make a good QB because of arm strength.

Aaron Brooks actually beat Michael Vick in a foot race.

Dude had the strongest arm in the NFL and was the fastest QB in the league.

Talk about wasted talent.
