“He shouldn’t be able to do what he wants because I don’t want him to!!”

That’s what some of you sound like.

felt like it might've been the time to step away heading into training camp

This team is set up to compete with minor adds, with an elite defense, and he steps away from that?

I just can't understand this. The roster is actually very good. Other coaches should be salivating to have this situation.

Maybe his absolute shitty play calling was more of a result of him having a foot out the door.

i am so appreciative of everything he did, but how can you not see this as him quitting on the team, the city, the franchise?

This. 10000% appreciative of what he's done for this franchise but he's still quitting on an extraordinary group of players.

They got blindsided and don't deserve that.

"I like our roster."

Remember the last press conference like this when people thought he was leaving? He went on and on and on.

I hope someone asks him to say what he really feels about Roger fricking Goodel and the fricking refs now that it don't matter

Sean gave us 16 of our best years in franchise history, 3 NFCCG appearances, a Lombardi trophy. He helped to save a region following one of the largest natural disasters on record, stayed through the Bountygate years and all the Goodell BS since, led one of the greatest offenses and QBs in the history of the sport, several different contending teams, and then through Covid and a snakebit season ... which we still nearly made the playoffs in. All for a franchise that was largely a joke before he arrived. Looks to me like he gave it his all and owes us nothing more.

How many coaches can say any, much less all, of this? How many in history spent that long in one location? CSP is nothing short of a legend and a HoFer in my book. Regardless what the future holds, he’ll always have my respect and admiration.

I'm glad at least one other person on here has the same thoughts on this as I do.

Did he just reference the Albert Connell story? Had he been on the Steelers?
