The Freak showcased his potential and things to come on MNF.
Who ever on here said he will be a bust (you're wrong AF)
Dude had a sack, 3 QB pressure,,a stop for loss on a run and a batted ball that sailed a few hundred feet in to the stratosphere)

while yes he kicked arse the other night, it's his fifth game of his career? let's pump the brakes on claiming whether he will be a bust or not
(and this comes from a guy who doesn't think he'll be a bust)

This.

You can see the potential, but I think consistency is going to be an issue this year. He'll likely have another game or two like Monday not. But he'll likely have a game or two where he is non-existent.

I think it's unfair to him to label him a bust or a HOFer just yet.

As stated before, he already has more sacks than Cam Jordan did his rookie year and already is an above average run defender...this kid is gonna be a stud.

I agree with pumping the brakes but he was also going against Trent Williams. Williams is a top 5 veteran Pro bowl LT and he was working him with strength, length, and power.

Davenport has caused the Saints to be able to get consistent pressure just bringing four. With him, Jordan, and Rankins the Saints have three DL that need either chip block from the running back or tight end and double teams from the interior linemen. Our DL is stacked when you also consider the Saints have three or four more veterans like Okafor also applying pressure on the offensive line.

Actually I think the fact that he is close to 40 snaps a game which are taken from a pro like Okafor shows the confidence the coaches have in him going forward.
Zero chance for a bust IMO the question remains how high he goes.

On a semi related note, what’s going on with Hendrickson? Just the odd man out I guess?

It’s the only way he can prove he’s worth the 8 first round picks traded away to get him.

Me watching the front 4 getting consistent pressure against a quality Oline.

He’s decent depth but I never thought he’d be more than that

The only relation between bust and Davenport is the bust that's already being made in Canton.

In the MNF game, the announcers called his Alex Smith strip a "sack fumble" so I was all ready to come in here and ask how long it's been since a Saints rookie had a multiple sack game... but then I checked the box score and he only got credit for the one sack... so I guess I'll have to save the question for a later game.

I honestly think they keep Hendrickson out as a precaution in case of any injuries and they’ll have a fresh body ready to prove himself

I know he had the back breaker sack and the strip sack, but they only credited him with one sack for the game. Everyone on TV called it a sack-fumble, but not the box score. Just a ff.

The one thing that really stands out to me about Davenport is that when he hits the QB, it has to be like getting run over by a Mack Truck and the hits have been clean.
