Seems like some very lazy comparisons.

Deadly accurate, smart and throws a great deep ball. I really hope we select this kid in the first round.
The game is pretty easy when you don’t have to worry about getting hit and you’re WRs are wide open the entire game.

Yes, I’m sure he’ll be an All-Pro type just like all the other Bama QBs from the Saban tree

This is so dumb

There’s not a single school out there, with the exception of maybe Oklahoma, that is pumping out great NFL QBs. Even with Oklahoma, if the Browns had used this mentality, they wouldn’t have drafted Baker.

You fellas probably beat your dick raw over Joe Burrow tho

That is an interesting take considering Joe Burrow was projected to be the 1st quarterback back taken in the draft and either #1 or #2 overall pick by every “expert” in the business.

Where as Mac Jones is getting a WIDE range of projections. From the 2nd QB taken all the way to the 4th or 5th QB taken, From a mid 1st round pick all the way to the 2nd round.

Its almost as if....wait for it....people are finding it difficult to evaluate him..

Most great college qbs always have receivers open what I judge on is if I see a throw and I’m like “wow he fit that in a tight window” or think to myself “what a throw”. I can’t say I’ve ever thought either about Mac

You seem to be not detecting the sarcasm and missing my point.

Mac Jones is a ho-hum guy, just like most other Bama QBs, and got to share the field with a bunch of elite players who made it easier for him. Not a single time have I watched and said, “Wow, this guy is a true leader, has a great NFL future, and is the reason his team is winning.”

That’s entirely different for someone like say Burrow or Watson who, surprise surprise, look great in the NFL even with subpar teams after showing they had all the tools to do so in college.

I clearly got your sarcasm that’s I replied the way I did. Your point is Bama’s QBs generally look good but don’t do anything in the league. So why should we trust them?

The point of looking at past history is dumb when it comes to QBs because no school is pumping them out.

I don’t know where people are getting this notion that Bama QBs look great in college. Tua was the first one. Even with all the talent, guys like McElroy, McCarron, and Hurts never put up huge passing numbers. And comparing him to McElroy and McCarron is dumb because they weren’t even asked to do the same thing. It’s just a lazy comparison.

Not a single time have I watched and said, “Wow, this guy is a true leader, has a great NFL future, and is the reason his team is winning.”

Oh yes, the good Ol’ eye test. Like that hasn’t failed on numerous occasions. Right? Oh wait it has.

You guys have nothing to back up your statements. It’s always the same “he throws to wide open receivers”, “he plays with great players”, “he doesn’t wow you”, etc. No actual tape breakdown or analysis. The vast majority of you guys didn’t watch every snap of his, or the All-22 camera, or breakdown anything he did. Yet for some reason you guys are 100% certain he’s going to flame out.

Truth is the majority of message board posters (myself included) don’t do anywhere near enough to be able to accurately predict how a player is going to be. It’s all surface level viewing and just repeating popular talking points. So my approach to a guy like Mac is that while he’s had a great season in which he rarely made a mistake, he is still an unknown due to his supporting cast and play calling. But I’m not going to act like I know for certainty he’s going to be great or bad.

Almost like being an older, one year sensation with a good arm and average athleticism who played behind a great OL with great offensive OL doesn’t make a QB an unknown or is it a reason to ding him

Can you find an update mock that has hun outside the 1st? There are wide range of projections when 5 QBs are projected to go in the first round

Rather make a run at Watson. If that can't happen then Jamesis.

No, NFL scouts and draft analysts.

Cbs sports
He is not in the 1st round in that one. But I have seen a bunch where he is mocked in the first round as high as the top 10. Like I have said, a wide range of projections so far.

Jones may end up being a very good NFL QB, maybe even better than Burrow , who knows. But Burrow was easily the more highly rated NFL prospect coming out of college.

Pass Bama QBs do not have a great track record in the NFL, particularly those who played for Saban.

Neither do LSU QBs, but I bet you would have jumped through your ceiling if the Saints had been able to draft Burrow, huh?

fricking idiot.
