Hard pass on “Bitch tits” Jones

Explain it.
Like most mobile quarterbacks, Burrow has to learn that he can't take as many risks in the NFL when it comes to running and extending plays. Many of LSU's big plays came from his size/athletic ability to make downfield throws after the coverage had fallen apart. Can he adapt to the field getting smaller with the speed of NFL defenses?
With Jones, the challenge will be the line of scrimmage. I know it sounds cliche, but he's not going to get the pocket he had in college. His ability to see the field and have the same accuracy (which was incredible) as he did in college will make him or break him.

Unfortunately for him, his injury occurred within the pocket.

Fair enough.

It was the height of irony that he was injured on a play where he stood in the pocket when it appeared he should have tucked and tried to pick up a few yards.

NO. No way. I do not want Mac Jones. He will be a bust.....just like Tua.
How exactly do you evaluate BAMA QB's? Best Line, Best WR, Best RB in the country. They bulldoze everyone they play. No one gets within 10 yards of their QB ever. WR running wide open all day. 18 wheeler in the backfield trucking fools. They never face adversity, rarely under duress. How do you evaluate these guys?? No way I waste a 1st rounder on a Bama QB to see what he might be, because there is no way of knowing what you are getting. Let someone else make that mistake.

Now replace Mac Jones with Joe Burrow and it’s the same exact situation

I knew JaMarcus Russell was a lazy piece of crap and would never pan out in the NFL. He was dumb and got by on natural talent alone. He never worked at it. On top of terrible work ethic and being a lazy sack of crap, he was also incredibly undisciplined. While his effort level got him cut and ridiculed out of the league, the truth is, he was eating his way out of the league before he was drafted. He was a bust waiting to happen. When the Raiders fell in love and pulled the trigger, I just laughed.
Mac Jones is not JaMarcus Russell. Not saying that. Mac Jones is impossible to evaluate, but my bet is he will be a bust. Anyone willing to draft him in the 1st round is gambling their future employment, because I do not see him panning out as a franchise QB drafted in the 1st.

Joe Burrow literally had the same situation in 2019.
LSU's offensive line won the Moore Award. Chase won the Biletnikoff. Clyde Edwards-Helaire was the only RB drafted in the 1st round last year.
That doesn't include two other 1st round WRs in Justin Jefferson and Terrace Marshall.
How did anyone evaluate Joe Burrow with all that surrounding talent?

I really wish people would stop comparisons between Burrow and Mac Jones. Both had great seasons in college, but the comparison should stop there because they are nothing alike.
The evaluate them without using things like
Great OL
Great RB
Great WR
Never faced adversity
Like NFL scouts give a shite

So you're saying it's no different than drafting any other QB in the first round.
Take a look at some of these "franchise" QBs drafted in the 1st round over the last 20 years:
JaMarcus Russell
Paxton Lynch
Brady Quinn
Jake Locker
Johnny Manziel
Josh Rosen
Tim Tebow
EJ Manuel
Dwayne Haskins
Brandon Weeden
Matt Leinart
Christian Ponder
J.P. Losman
Blaine Gabbert
Patrick Ramsey
Kyle Boller
David Carr
Joey Harrington
Josh Freeman
Jason Campbell
Robert Griffin III
Blake Bortles
Byron Leftwich
And the list goes on and on.

Had forever to throw in Bama's offense & receivers had 10 yards of separation most plays. It will be interesting if he can process quickly enough to become a great Pro.
Who was Burrow throwing to? Will he become a great pro?
Everything said about this kid reminds me Burrow. Studies film hard and reads a defense very quickly. Pretty good at throwing the deep ball too.

Burrow’s athleticism serves as a plus. His OL won awards, but he got pressured plenty. Bama, Clemson, and Georgia all had much better defenses than anything Jones saw. It’s not a knock on him, you do what you can with what you’re given.
Burrows biggest strength was his leadership and drive. I didn’t really see enough of Jones to say whether he has that same “it” factor, but it doesn’t matter.
Mac Jones could very well be a good player, but I feel more comfortable with what I’ve seen from Winston. Which is the only question you need to answer.
Is giving up capital for Jones a better bet than sticking with the guy you know can be a starter, even a good one in the right situation? I don’t think so.
