No I saw it, he over powered the center with great strength. That's why I said he should be used inside on passing downs.
You want him on the inside; yet his sack came from him lining up outside and running a stunt. He overpowered Mack bc he was already going full speed at contact. But, go ahead and call him a bust based on your extensive film study from playing part-time in 3 games.

3 to 5 more sacks will not be considered a bust.

He’s only played 50% of the snaps and that number is increasing every game. He’s 4th amongst rookie DE’s and he’s tied Cam Jordan’s rookie year with one sack. Is Cam Jordan a bust? He’s had a better rookie year than Myles Garret and Jadaveon Clooney...are they busts? And don’t give me this we gave up two picks bullshite, you’ll be eating crow when this kid turns out to be special.

Just ignore this a-hole. Probably a 13 year old kid.

Another idiot poster who thinks we gave up 2 1st rounders....

Did you know that Khalil Mack had a whopping 4 sacks his rookie year and 0 in his first three games? What a bust he was. No potential at all as a pass rusher. He sucked.

I would have rather used the 1st next year to move up and get Baker Mayfield because let's be honest the defense would be the same without Davenport.

said he looks good against the run.
So? Just because you give him a complement, doesnt take away from the fact your overall assertion is that he is a bust.

Wait. This isn’t sarcasm? Or is everyone in on a bit?

Were Von Miller or Mack elite pass rushers by their third games? Or did their fans hold off judgement for a bit? In your personal job were you performing at an elite level at the outset? I doubt it.

He just turned 22 and is going up against some of the strongest men on earth. He’s going to become a lot stronger himself in his first few years in the league. Let the dude figure it out.

Lol. You think it'd take next year's 1st to get the number 1 overall pick.
Cmon, you're talking about all of 2019 and 2020 to get that pick.

We did not give up 2 first round picks.
When you draft someone in the first round, do you say you “gave up” a first round pick?

Consistently playing inside he would disappear. He is built to play as an outside pass rusher/edge player and that’s it. He. An okay inside occasionally when the formation calls for it but he is definitely not built to play as an every down DT. Take a look at the build of rankings and then look at Davenport. He will come around don’t worry. People are so quick nowadays to throw someone to the dogs if they don’t get Lawrence Taylor like numbers...do you understand how rare it is to find a player like that? He’s a fist round pick he should be shooting simple for double digit sacks and to effect the game enough to consistently have his name in the conversation. He has done that so far with his play against the run and his raw athleticism and trend upwards in skills progression. Want to see a bust? Look at players like Stephone Anthony or Stanley Jean-Baptiste.

I don’t think the defense would be the same without Davenport. It would mean Okafor would have a larger role and he would be sharing snaps with Hendrickson. Neither of those players are better than Davenport at this point.
