is there any relationship the impala has with this investigation other than it happens to be the car in front of will smith at the time?

Not sure at this time, according to the lawyer he makes it seem like either the impala, or smiths vehicle rear ended the hummer in a hit and run... he kept saying one of the vehicles. So who knows right now.

lawyer definitely kept dodging the request to specifically say which vehicle hit the hummer.

yep and he also suggested the shooter called police and told witnesses to stay after the shooting, then later on in the interview he said he called while following smith, then they directly asked him did he call the 911 after the shooting and he side stepped saying he knew he called once, but would not say it was after the shooting.

i think all the lawyer is hoping for is smith was drunk.. no reason for murder. But he is looking for something, anything to make smith look like an agressor or in the wrong in this situation so his client can get a lesser charge.

that video NOLA.com just released is really good for Hayes

Was this what you heard: Smith says I have a gun, Hayes says I have a gun too, Hayes shoots...

not sure, last i heard they were getting a search warrant for smiths vehicle and no one has said what was found inside. But only one gun was fired, that is known...hayes

Only one gun was confiscated and Smith's car hadn't been searched as of yesterday afternoon.

Alright thought it was searched and they only found one. I thought they were getting the warrant for only the impala.

basically, but if Hayes says "I have a gun" and then Smith says "I have one too!" and turns around to get into the vehicle which makes sense since he was shot in the back and slumped over the steering wheel...

It sounded to me like the witness was saying that the person who said "I have a gun too" was the shooter.

going to be interresting as the facts come out. Would not surprise me if toxicology reports came back with smith under the influence... they have multiple witnesses saying smith said he had a gun, and hayes ends up with charges dropped to manslaughter. Its going to be one to follow.

either way, if Smith said he had a weapon, whether first or second, and then turned toward the car, Hayes can say he felt his life was in danger.

hayes can say a lot of things. me saying i have a gun doesnt mean you can unload yours into me.
it may make him slightly more sympathetic though and take life in prison off the table.
