He's a WR, not going to beat out Thomas, Landry, Olave, or Callaway to get on the field, and Harty will be the return guy.

Trequan blocks; and he'd be the 5th WR on the team as it stands (6th, if you put Harty as the return guy).

TreQuan is the GOAT blocker ... he can't do much else, but he is an elite WR blocker

I think he's not going to get picked up at this juncture, we love him more than other teams will. We still have lots of roster manipulating to do, some will come after the initial roster is set as Ireland and Loomis do their shuffling act.

He was always gonna be a bubble guy. We like him, but it was gonna be hard to make this team for anybody , and there were gonna be some tough cuts today. Hopefully nobody picks him up and we can sign him to the PS.

The league says who you are. Guy couldn’t make the dolphins and no other WR deficient team wanted him. Survey says, career practice squad type

Trequan is better for what they need him for, unless you guys want us designing plays for a 6th wr

I'm a bit surprised. I heard a few media types saying he could make the roster because he had a good camp. They said his special teams play would get him there.

Shows how much those guys know.

It sucks, however Trequan is a good blocker for our runningbacks

And Harty is a better return guy

Meritt is not beating out Thomas, Landry, Olave or Calloway. So strictly a numbers game. Harty and Treyquan give you six receivers

Both have been in this offense for several years and know it and have experience.

If he clears waivers, Merrit should go to the practice squad and if he does he will eventually be called up because of injuries.

I thought he was competing less with TreQuan Smith and more with Dwayne Washington, and I thought he would take Washington's spot. Washington does offer a good bit on STs, but he's not a gunner, and Merrit was playing STs in preason

I think Tony Jones Jr. is less valuable and can't believe they couldn't bring in through FA/ draft a running back to compete with this guy.

Jones had a nice looking preseason last year but has looked like garbage since.
