Kaden Elliis has been elite the last two years in pass rushing top five among lbers. Rush D and coverage is middle of the pack so I think off ball is for him.
He's our first pressure the qb pick up.

So he replaces DD? What happened to the Stutsman next man up hype. Why did Atl let him out the bldg.

Well... I guess thats a pretty strong sign about Styles

Not at all

Gotta sign a veteran LB any way

If Sonny is there, he’d be the pick no question. Chances he’s there at 8 is small but it could happen.

Elliss will obviously be starting with the deal he signed. Stutman and Werner will battle it for the other regular off ball LB spot, I guess.

Add Styles to the mix as a Will Anderson Jr. type role, like in Houston, and this defense is really good.

I dont want to commit early but Styles would still be my pick. Give me a generational LB if available all day everyday. They make your defense from ok to good, good to great, and great to elite.

Running a 3-4 maybe Ellis replaces Jordan and Styles replaces Demario thank for your service Davis.

If Ellis is replacing Demario it feels like going from Vilma to Fujita...it can work but it is a downgrade.

Ellis pass rushing replacing Jordan seems like a comparable move for similar cost and the safer bet for multiple seasons

It says nothing about Styles, like Etienne says nothing about Love. You don't go into the draft having not addressed needs, and you don't ignore what you consider the bpa if they are far above the others available just because you have someone at that position. This is not how the draft works. xD

Average starting LB, which is something we needed badly. I'll take a league average starter to get us through until we find the next Vilma or Davis.

Just for reference his averages the last 3 years starting are 127 tackles, 4 pass defenses, 4 sacks, and 10 QB hits a year. Those are numbers that can get you through any year.

With Sonny's size, could we play him like a 3-4 outside backer? Don't I remember reading that Staley ran that type of defense? Styles did have 6 sacks in 24....

I would not want to put Styles in the middle....to me that's a waste of all that freakish athleticism

If Stutsman can't beat out perennial all-pro Pete Werner, there is nothing to hype. We'll see.

And he’s an expert on our division. Bonus. Bet he has lots of games played in the South.

Theres your replacement for Demario. Ellis, Werner and Stutsman should be a solid group.

Hmm do you think he would be taking over Demario’s role in our scheme?

No. That would be Stutsman.

I assume Elliss will line up next to Stutsman as the LILB and then blitz or rush off the edge on third down. He’s actually still really good at pass rushing.

And for all I know they could be wanting him on the edge, have someone still big but more athletic there. But I think maximizing him is keeping him inside on first and second down and then have him rush off the edge on third.

Yeah I like his versatility a lot. Not as elite of a run defender as Demario but he’s solid there and also provides other things that Demario, at this stage, does not.
