This franchise is pretty lost up its own arse if they retain DA. Well said. Allen is the one who wanted Carr in the first place.
I'd be shocked if they don't give Allen and Carr another yr.

Theres no reason to give both another year. Both of them working together have shown nothing honestly. We’re stuck with Carr- I get it. We’re not stuck with DA unless we enjoy complacency.
By the way DA could blame this on Carmicheal but he decided to stick with him after the first year debacle as well. DA deserves a lot of the blame for Carr and offensive issues because he could have got a better off coord and decided against keeping Carmicheal.

I don’t understand why people think this. Yes we are stuck with Carr but that doesn’t mean you HAVE to keep DA. Thats nonsense- its like you’re burdening yourself with another year of DA because of Carr’s contract. If Carr doesn’t like DA getting fired- who cares. The dude holds absolutely no weight in the organization.
Now whats sad is if the Saints think this- to me thats just absolutely bad management. I just hope Loomis is not taking Carrs contract into account when assessing DA as a head coach. I think if Loomis doesn’t fire DA (probably will happen) its based more on him feeling that two years may be too quick to make a change not because they’re stuck on Carr’s contract.
Just to be clear, I think DA should be fired. The team should try to trade Carr but if they can’t hire a new coach and draft a qb.

Always felt this would be the case. They're gonna give him the chance to get a new OC and run it back one more time.
My only hope is that the team stops signing expensive FAs so we can at least start the rebuild cycle.

Yes, it does. A quality coach is going to want to start fresh with his guy, not a QB that is playing like shite and getting boo'd by the crowd every time he runs out. Could we fire DA with Carr still on the roster? Sure. Would we be an attractive opening? absolutely fricking not.
The play here is to get rid of both of them at the same time and hopefully draft the next face of the franchise at QB this year or next.

Its a NFL head coaching opportunity. Maybe 5 at the most are open every year. We have young talent and honestly an owner who doesn’t mettle at all (sometimes I wish she did). No NFL team does what you’re saying because you’re tolerating bad coaching and bad football on the rare chance its more attractive for other candidates. Its just not how a NFL franchise should and does work.

It’s virtually impossible to get rid of Carr after this season. Saints are around to over $100 million over the cap. If Carr doesn’t play for the Saints next season he is a $57 million cap hit. If Carr is on the team he is $37 million cap hit. The “Out” is after next season

Lol if you think this team will turn the tide and win 4 straight you need to put down the weed.

Whether you call it a formal evaluation or not you are ALWAYS evaluating. It’s not as if the GM is just off on a beach somewhere missing the entire season and will just take ma first look at everything once the season ends.
They may want to take a week or two to finalize a plan going forward, but they are “evaluating” daily, weekly, monthly
