It took some nuts to throw long on 3rd and 4.

I admittedly held my breath when he let it go, but it showed me they didn't just want to convert. It was a game ender.

I remember Payton had a habit of being too conservative in those situations, but you win games by being aggressive.

Tennessee DB should have tackled Shaheed again.

They did it on the prior drive and PI wasn't called. We brush up against a WR on their final FG drive and PI was called on us.

Carr throws a gorgeous deep ball so I'm sure there was a ton of confidence. We also know we wouldn't get the PI call in that situation so a completion was paramount.

I enjoy aggressive football.

That throw gave me some hope for DA and Carmichael. I’d much rather lose being aggressive than the conservative chickenshit they were doing last year.

Can you imagine how many sacks we would have taken if Winston was playing?

I don't know what else they could have done last year with what we had. When you consider 7 wins was the worst we did with prime Brees our 7 wins last year is kind of a miracle.

True, but we also got a break on what should have been a fumble six for the Titans.

I'm surprised it wasn't one of those situations where the ref pulled the hanky out as soon as the snap happened to call a hold that was impossible to be called at that time.

I like to call those flags the "vegas special" The saints go up six there if I remember right and basically end the game. If it was the saints doing the penalty you would have seen the flags all the way from new york come flying in

We’ve been on the other end during Brees’ last few years, early whistle / fumble recovery specifically. Don’t care

Watching the interaction between Carr & coaches looked pretty heated at times. Looked like he was addressing the play calls. He is the confident & aggressive guy under center we have needed for some time. Teams can no longer assume a short pass on short yardage downs.

Must've missed that. Great if true! The team needed some balls that Allen and Carmichael rarely display. Hope that continues through the season.

Underhill and Triplett on their post game podcast made it sound like Carr was really pushing for that play and is the stronger personality in what is meant to be a partnership

It was one of those calls that makes Carr and coaches look great when it works out, and gets criticized to no end if it doesn’t.

I’m one that’s if the opinion that you try to win the game when you get the chance. If it doesn’t work and you get beat, so be it. At least you didn’t hold anything back and lose anyway for being conservative.

How did the ball go forward? At most maybe they could've called intentional grounding.

On the Carr "non" fumble? There is no intentional grounding if the qb (including his arm/hand) gets hit on the throw.

FYI: The DB on that play was Kristen Fulton, formerly of LSU.

I wonder if this led to him butting heads with Mcdaniels with the Raiders. I personally agree its needed for our team and like his fire. Similar to how Brees probably interacted with the coaches.

Carmichael 1000% calls a run and we punt in that situation last year.
