DA basically admitted in his presser he has nothing to do with the O on game day. Carmichael is going to be aggressive. Saying that, DA is an aggressive D coach, I don't think he's the boring, ball control, cloud of dust coach, many here think.

Actually, I remember Paytonon a
Few occasions being too “”aggressive. Calling a double reverse at midfield when we should have had the game locked up, for example.

That's aggressive but also I don't think most double reverses work. Takes too long to develop.

What drove me nuts about Payton was in and out with different personal on each play, and he didn't call no huddles during the game even when Brees showed he was good at it.

I didn’t think so, they had out so the clock was going to stop either way.

They should send Vrabel a thank you card. Kicking a FG down by 4? I'm not buying the excuses. He had money on the +3. Just like another Titans coach used to do.

It wasn’t that crazy… they had 2 minutes and 3 TOs and our running game had been non-existent

I’m one that’s if the opinion that you try to win the game when you get the chance. If it doesn’t work and you get beat, so be it. At least you didn’t hold anything back and lose anyway for being conservative.

Absent unusual circumstances, I always of the opinion that if you have the ball with a chance to win, you take it rather than playing it safe and given the opponent another opportunity with the ball.

That could be going for 2 rather than taking the tie at then end of a game. Or, passing on 3rd down rather than running and taking a FG that even if good still leaves it a one score game.

In watching games this weekend I think you are seeing more of that mindset prevail because coaches know offenses are becoming better and better at executing scoring drives in a short amount of time.
