Interesting comment from the board’s favorite whipping boy Jeff Duncan

Apparently, there were serious inquiries as to the availability of one Spencer, the snake Rattler by the Jacksonville Jaguars. And they were told he’s not available because “some“ people in the building still very much believe in him.
In fact, there was quite a bit of opposition to picking Tyler Shough at number 40 because “some” people in the building very much believe in Spencer Rattler.
Sounds very much like saying Mickey Loomis thinks Rattler is the guy. But coach Moore wanted his quarterback.
I mean, the only two people who really have the power to say no he’s not available because they believe in him would be the GM or the owner. At least Mickey was smart enough to give Kellen Moore the quarterback he wanted.

Anyone who still thinks Rat is the guy over Shough is a certified retard. I would hope that’s not Mickey cuz Jesus Christ if it is that’s insane. Shough clearly showed that he’s got what it takes and can become a star for us. Idk how anyone could look at our 2 QBs and think Rat is the guy. If what you say is true, someone with power in our front office is delusional.

Trevor Siemian is the worst quarterback I’ve seen start a game for the Saints but Rattler is a not too distant second. Every game felt hopeless with him under center. And that’s under two different systems.

The Saints should have taken whatever they could have gotten for Rattler! It's time to move on from him and look for a quality backup.

In fact if anything it would be Moore who might have preferred Rattler, as Shough was on the Saints radar long before Moore became coach, and Moore wasn't here long enough to have been heavily involved in most of the draft process that year.
