IF the Saints had an excellent O-Line, what do you think their 2024 record would be?

Offensive playcalling is a major unknown.

The defensive line isn’t very good. We have no pass rusher other than Davis or Taylor on delayed blitzes. As bad as that is, the offensive line is still worse.

As for your original question, if we had the Lions or Eagles offensive line, I’d say we could win 9 to 10 games. That’s a 3/4 game swing as I think we will currently only win about 6 games.

I think Dline is solid. I'd say above average

LOL

Carr isn’t in the same stratosphere as Goff.

Good grief man.

The Saints have all 1st and 2nd rounders on the line.

The Saints have a new O Line coach and new offensive coordinator.

Bad coordinators tors get less out of the available talent, good coordinators get more.

I am holding out hope the coaches bring more out of the team than we expect.

We would be able to play from in the lead a lot more no doubt.

The defense would have a lot more pass rushing opportunities and the secondary is maybe the strongest area on the team so they would have a chance to shine also

The defense wouldn't get run on as much because the other team would be trying to catch up. They'd be throwing more

I feel like we should have no problem winning the division with a great o-line. Just not sure how far in the playoffs we'd go.

One of our starting guards is not a 1st or 2nd rounder. Penning is also on the verge of being a bust.

Or the oline is just bad and not as talented and the coordinators have little effect on their play.

I’d settle for a decent Head Coach who could oversee fixing a bad O-Line

Only McCoy has met expectations thus far relative to where they were picked.

Penning is a bust and Ruiz is serviceable. Hopefully Fuaga performs as advertised but draft position is irrelevant once the games are live.

There is a reason Saints have the 31st ranked OL in spite of the significant draft capital. Total failure by Loomis and scouting department.

Based on what? We were bottom five in sacks last year and haven’t gotten any better this year.

Granderson was 33rd in the league in sacks with 8.5. Tanoh Kpassagnon and Nathan Shepherd had the next most sacks with 3 and were 135th in the league. And Kpassagnon is hurt this year. Breese showed some promise, but he and Granderson are above average. Everyone else is well below average. Also, we were 9th worst in rushing yards allowed last year.

This line is bottom third in stopping the run and can’t rush the passer. This defensive line sucks!

This is the crazy part. We have sunk more assets by far than any other team in the league into this line.

The front office has sucked. Missing on Ruiz and Penning is killing this team. When you draft lineman that high they have to be borderline pro bowlers. Cowboys took an olineman a few picks after Penning that’s an all pro now.

Ruiz has been average at best. You don’t draft centers and guards in the first round. It’s idiotic. They should be taking one every year in the 3rd or 4th to groom like we did with Saldaveri.

I do think Fuaga will be very good. So maybe there’s hope.

Jordan- good against the run, average pass rusher nowadays
Granderson- average to above average (solid) pass rusher
Bresee- if makes a jump, good pass rusher solid run D
Draft pick this year, forget name- Should be solid against the run
Turner- who knows, if healthy, average pass rusher, possibly solid
Chase- good pass rusher

I never said elite, I said above average.

I think one of these guys has to prove they’re playing at a pro bowl level to be called an above average line in my opinion. Which is possible. You need a guy to take on double teams. I don’t think thats Cam anymore. Maybe granderson or Chase??
