should the Saints pull the trigger for the right price?

Risking the next 5 weeks with Hill as the backup before Haener is re-activated.

The only way it makes sense for the saints is if the pick is a 3rd. There's absolutely no way in hell the jets give up a 3rd for Winston. Winston as insurance is more valuable than a late round pick.

Other teams have access to the same film we do… I doubt there is a huge appetite for this guy out there.

Absolutely, get something now from a desperate team. Winston had been done here for quite sometime.

If they came calling, I think we should. But I don't think the Saints will because of the Haener suspension unfortunately. We didn't even carry another QB in camp. They don't want to be one injury away from starting a journeyman.

The Jets are going to roll with BYU boy. Winston would have to learn the playbook on the fly. I doubt he can do that and run the offense better than Wilson.

We're really down on winston, apparently. Wilson has a career 71.2 passer rating. 71.2! Winston isn't some great qb, but he's not that bad. If the jets are serious about this season, they won't use Wilson

ETA... and not saying Winston is a good option.

I would get whatever I could for him, it’s a business at the end of the day. Winston probably a good locker room guy so if he wanted to go there I’d send him.

When the running game and defense they have, if I’m the jets gm, I’d be more interested in Hill. But that’s just me.

Winston Insurance = 3

No one should call the Saints.

You serious?

Winston's a marginal starting QB, he'd be one of the bottom 5 starters... but top 5 backups. WAY better than what the Jets are stuck with now that Rodgers is out.

Who do you think is on the Jets' wish list?

He's much much much better than Zach Wilson

Unless the Jets are willing to send a starter at a weak position you don't field the call. They are not going to send a decent draft pick and Jameis is great insurance if Carr goes down because of our line

If they offer anything 6th round or higher I’m giving it thought. A 5th round pick seems to be about the right asking price for Jameis.
