Clueless - those two are best friends both have referred to each as such in interviews and will golf together in the off season.
So why did sean leave his best friend then??

Sean failed and was a bitch and quit on the rough patch of the organization

Does that narrative help you sleep better at night? The truth is no one knows why him and Loomis broke up, but it’s safe to say they didn’t see eye to eye on everything. Maybe Sean left for Denver because of his girlfriend idk. I think Sean wanted to restart the franchise after drew left. Hell I actually think he wanted to restart before drew left. Everyone knows about him wanting to get Mahomes. Then the first thing he does when he gets to Denver is draft Bo Nix. Then our entire organization players and staff start running to the broncos?? It seems pretty fricking obvious who the common denominator is? Maybe just maybe the problem is the same guy who gave Derek fricking Carr $150 million dollar contract
My only question is why on earth are there still sorry arse face painters who are willing to die on a hill defending Mickey Loomis?

Give them 3 yeas to tear down and recycle it from the studs with very few holdovers like Shaheed and the young guys with potential. Let Moore pick his his QB and I truly think this staff can be a good one. I like Staley as DC and Nussmeier is clearly Kellen’s older guy to lean on. Who knows maybe his son is our QB of the future?
Will take longer than 3 years because of the Cap situation, unless they just happen to hit on nearly every draft pick and find some diamond free agent pick ups. Garrett is not the Saints future QB. I like Nuss but he will be no more than a serviceable back up in the league.

Some horrible horrible takes in this thread.

Sean Quit. Mickey did not. Mickey just hired a slam dunk offensive coach. Mickey is here striving to make a better future of this organization after the sacrifices he made for Payton to help him win.

Not what we’re talking about is the OPs title.
As if Loomis is in the way. That is opinion then the rest of the argument including yours is that it’s Loomis’ fault. And Loomis is not letting Moore do what he wants.
It’s BS. First he’s not doing that second if he were there has been nothing to suggest that is the case. Quite the opposite actually but ya done see it because you have a narrative to support.

I have always argued on here that nothing matters until you have your QB
Argue all you want but you will never be a winning team (at any level) without a solid OL. Like it or not it's fact.

Link to where Loomis is in his way?
This is absolutely true
Sean Payton had 100% of the draft decisions
And so will any HC under Loomis
The one thing you can’t blame Loomis for is any player personnel decisions
Anybody on this board could make better decisions than him
Which also explains how miserable Sean Payton was at talent evaluating

Shaheed Is very legit.
Needs to stay healthy more as 33 games out of 51 isn’t good enough.
Hopefully Moore’s new hire to train the Oschner doctors will help.

It’s not just Mickey, the face painters defend everyone in the Airline Dr building regardless of performance.
Once they leave the building like Payton, they turn on him immediately blaming him still for today’s mess.
Only when Payton goes into the HOF as a Saint will the painters turn back.

He only has to win 6 games to be “better” than DA. That’s a pretty low bar for “hey, things are improving!”
The team we had on the field at the end of the season would be hard-pressed to win 2

No we absolutely should NOT take a QB this year unless it’s just a late round shot in the dark. This team needs help at all positions, this year’s draft needs to be about picking good, safe players that you begin to make a foundation on. Next year has a much better QB class. If we tank and get the 1st pick or at least top 5 then it’s possible that both Arch Manning and Garrett Nussmeier would be options although I would bet on Arch coming out the year after in 2027 as a redshirt junior.

Well this is a stupid fricking point. Was Sean supposed to fire his boss? Sean is the #1 main reason this franchise has seen any sort of success. Drew Brees would be bagging groceries without SP

you’re so full of shite. We were the only team left without a head coach

Couldn’t have said it better myself. At least one other person understands them.
