If Brock Bowers or Rome Odunze are still on the board at 14, do you take one of them?

Or do you take the best available OL? It’s a little nuts as we have the unquestionable worst OL in the NFL right now but I think I take Bowers definitely and most likely Odunze also. Odunze is the perfect Michael Thomas replacement and would be WR1 over Olave after a while. Bowers is just a freak at a position where guys like him are rare and completely change your offense. I would then have to either sacrifice my 1st next year to get back into the late 1st or very early 2nd to take an OL. Or maybe package 45 with a 2nd or 3rd next year to move up and take someone like Graham Barton or Jordan Morgan. Both those guys don’t have the name recognition or hype of some of the other guys (Joe Alt) but they would be day 1 solid starters. I just wouldn’t be able to pass up someone as special as both of those guys if they fell to 14.

I'd take Bowers, game changing TEs like him do so much and have such an impact on the game. Having a #1 WR and an elite TE is almost impossible to stop. Bowers ran a 4.48 in the 240s. Then do what you have to to get Jordan Morgan in the second. I'd be ecstatic with those 2

You have to unless somehow Daniels, Maye, MHJ, Nabors, or Williams falls to 14

Yep, I can’t let Bowers go. But i’m doing what I have to go get Jordan Morgan. I love Graham Barton too but he might be a LG in the NFL if he can’t stay at LT but I believe Jordan Morgan is going to end up being one of the steals of the draft for whoever takes him. He’s a no doubt say 1 starter at LT. The Penning era would be over.

Yes

There are a dozen OL in the top 50, the difference between the guy at 14 and the guy at 45 isn’t that much. You aren’t finding an Odunze or Bowers, nothing close

There are going to be top game changing players at 14 as had been said. If you can't or don't want to trade them for more picks its not the end of the world. Both the players you mention are worthy of a 1st round pick so it can't be wrong. Until next year. When the "I knew player X was going to blow up" crowd chimes in.

I honestly think one might really fall. We know Jayden, Maye, Williams, McCarthy, Nabers, Alt, Harrison Jr., Dallas Turner. That’s 8 picks we know are coming off the board. I can’t believe i’m saying this but if the opportunity to move up 2-4 spots presented itself I wouldn’t be mad if we traded up for Bowers. All the great teams have stars at TE. Juwan Johnson is a decent starting TE but Bowers would be a literal game changer.

If Bowers is on the board and they don’t draft him, people deserve to be fired.

I’m going to say no.

Bowers is a luxury we can’t really afford at the moment. We need OL, DE and DTs now. Take a DE or OT with the first and second pick and if Theo Johnson or Ja'Tavion Sanders fall in the second, you can trade up for one of them. Although we’d still probably need to take a DT or CB depending on what happens with Lattimore.

Most all top O-linemen are usually drafted in the early 1st rd. Skill position players are hit or miss. How many TEs are legitimate difference makers in the nfl and how many of them were first rounders? I actually like Brian Thomas over Odunze. Let’s invest in WR when we have a franchise QB

Peat could end up resigning with the Saints you never know.

We would be absolutely stacked at TE if Bowers fell to 14

Bowers
Juwan Johnson

Okay well maybe not stacked but having those three inside the red zone definitely wouldn't hurt.

I’d take Legette over Odunze. And I think Bowers will not live up to the hype.
I’d rather a taller TE. Have to go tackle with that first pick. But I’d rather them trade down.

That’s shitty logic but I’ll play. There are a ton of 1st rd busts at OL. We drafted Ruiz and Penning in the 1st rd. That position is no less hit or miss than any other position. And it especially rings true for our organization considering were we got Armstead, Evans, Nicks, strief, stinch etc

If Bowers is a dude and a difference maker, where should he be selected? Where would the Kelce, Andrews, Laporta, Kittle types go if they redrafted their classes? Those guys are anchors of some pretty decent offenses

I like Thomas but don’t think he has the makings of a 1 like Odunze. He’s not going to fall so this discussion is moot

If you were to say they are a solid oline away from competing for a SB, I’d agree with you. But the reality is there is a talent deficiency across the board. You have an opportunity at a player you expect to be a stud and one of the top guys this position; you need to get him now

Offensive line is our biggest need and the most important piece in a winning football team besides a quarterback. There's no way you take a Tight end over a starting left tackle unless maybe you know he's going to be the next kelce. And hopefully doesn't promote vaccines. Heh

I understand your point. My point is there are alot more guys that can play LT than an do what Bowers will do. I think he's a better athlete than Kelce no doubt. He's going to have a huge impact on how defenses have to defend you for years to come. He's going to have a Gronk type impact for the offense
