Ian Book has shined on the scout team and is as mobile as Taysom says Saints TE Vannett

He's definitely mobile. He moved around well vs bama in that playoff game. ND was outclassed, but I thought book played well

It's pretty simple. If he was great, he wouldn't be on a scout team.

Yeah I think that’s a little overhyping him. Say what you want about Taysom’s ability to throw the ball but he is an elite runner. If book could run like that he would have already been starting because there is no way he’s any worse of a thrower than Taysom.

And Kurt Warner wouldn't have been in the arena league, am I right?

But, in all seriousness, you are pretty much correct in this case. We're all just hoping for he suddenly shines or somehow flipped a switch in the interim. We need to find him a Brazilian supermodel, I hear those do magical things to a QB.

Mahomes is great, and he didn't play till the end of his rookie season. Not saying book is Mahomes

Perhaps it's picking up the whole offense that's holding him back, not ability (fingers crossed)

It doesn't hurt to have Roger Goodell as your fairy godfather.

I had to reread a few times to look for anyone who called him great. Couldn’t find it

Mobility does not equal being a “runner”. Hill has nice straight speed but lacks fluidity and agility in the pocket. He took more sacks last year in only 121 drop backs than Drew took in 390. I’m almost certain Book has better pocket presence and agility than Hill

Books athletic testing numbers are almost identical to Russell Wilson’s

Watch his college snaps. Can definitely run. Not like Taysom but he reminds me of Russell Wilson when running the ball.

Just saw this in the post above. Exactly what I see too. Not saying he's Wilson but the comparison can be made.

From what little I've seen of him,
Good mobility good sight while on the run
Moves in the pocket well, will buy time
Good touch on passes 20 yards and in
Goes through progressions well

Biggest knock on him is arm strength. Remember Drew and Manning didn't have cannon either.

I expect they will take advantage of his mobility. Probably not a lot of downfield passing I'm sure their will be some timing issues but maybe take advantage of his rollout abilities. He does have a strange trajectory to his passes.

A chicken can run around. Can he be a quarterback.... make the read and throw the ball while in the pocket.

More like he's almost as good a runner... And a slightly better passer

His offensive coordinator from ND is about to be on NFL network.

Said
extremely accurate
Prepares tirelessly
Ready for big moments
Similar leadership traits as Brees.

Not all that much really.
