I hate football. We have a HOF QB and some of the best talent money can by the past ten years and none of our coaches know what to do with them.

Meanwhile, Sean Payton takes a bunch of scrubs and a functional retard and keeps on trucking.

I would tell him to hold off on that HOF QB talk.

Why’d he call Drew a functional retard?

In the last three seasons (thus far) the Saints have played 10 games where Brees wasn't the starter. They are 9-1 in those games. That doesn't just happen by accident. I think the fans sometimes get frustrated with Payton simply because he has been in NOLA for so long now and the Brees era probably left a championship or two "on the bone"...but I think it is pretty clear he is a tremendous HC and he has a chance to really prove that this season.

If anyone has watched the History of Atlanta Falcons by Secret Base/SB Nation, you start to realize how good we really have it since Payton was hired in 2006. Just from the Falcons rivalry, we are 2 games back from tying the overall series record, which is crazy to think it hasn't been this close since the beginning of both franchises.

I definitely agree that Payton is an excellent head coach, even though he has had a few questionable moments and very dumb play calls during his tenure. And yes we did leave Super Bowls on the bone, but we have been really consistent in terms of producing a competitive team week to week to compete for those opportunities. So I hope he really proves it this season!

The delusion of Matty Ice being a hof qb is what really cracks me up.

Statistically, he's in the conversation. He runs up some nice regular season numbers on a pretty consistent basis. But, when you look at how his teams have faired, outside of 2-3 years, I think it will take awhile for him to get in (depending how the back end of his career goes)

It's really fun watching teams like Atlanta spend all the draft capital and money on new toys, yet our fans bitch when we don't get the 1st round WR and get another olineman instead.

Payton took a team that no one had been truly afraid of for the decades since its inception, to a team that every opposing fan fears when they see us on their team's schedule.

Yeah the fans complaining about drafting an O lineman in the first round are the most clueless fans. There is a reason the saints have continued to be one of the top teams. You can’t win a super bowl in the NFL without a good line. When you have an elite O line you can make an average QB look great.

The Falcons deserve this… way to bad of a team to spend a top 5 pick on a TE

They have plenty of talent on the o-line. They have grady jarrett on the d line and not much else.

I agree with all of this - but the falcons have spent a lot of draft capital on tbe Oline. It’s just bad talent. They took 2 OL in the first round on 2019 and an OL in the third round each of last 2 drafts. The saints hit rate on OL in the draft is truly incredible.

Jameis Winston may be a lot of things, but he's not stupid. Watch the video of him breaking down defenses with Jon Gruden before the NFL Draft. He's pretty sharp, and his Wonderlic score is well above the average.

I wanted Lamb or Jefferson last year. I thought those were the two best receivers in the draft. Knew they would be difference makers. Knew Lamb would be gone but really thought Jefferson would make it to us. After he went, I was fine with Ruiz. Just did not want Queen or any other linebacker in the first. Didn’t want Werner this year either though.
