And why I say he has a little Brock bowers in him.

These are sec dbs he is running by.

Kellen Moore was excited to get him so he can run 2 and 3 te sets. It will open up an entire different part of the offense and help shough even more.

Delp also played with a broken bone in his foot in 2025.

juwan has 2 yrs left but saints have a march bonus out that there's a chance this could be his last year here.

Fant signed a 2 yr deal w/ a realistic 1 yr out.

Either juwan or fant won't be back following year imo.

I could see that. Juwan had a really good yr. I think he had like 77 catches for 800 yards

he trended in the better direction as the year went on. If juwan can keep the drops lower, he's a great asset to have.

Especially considering we had very few options. I think if he’s pushed down the pecking order a bit he will likely have opportunities to make a big impact when new weapons like Polk are out there.

7 drops was tied for the league high. I honestly think he is always going to have some of those drops.

Sometimes it's when he goes up high to bring the back down.

7 drops
PFR has him at 6, but iirc most if not all the drops and 1 of the fumbles came with Rattler at QB (trying to find the game logs that has the drops breakdown). And iirc the fumble with Shough was a catch and turn with the defender immediately on him for the strip (not to say he shouldn't have secured it better, but it was very bang bang iirc).

Overall his play was definitely elevated once Shough was starting, whereas he was looking extremely rough with Rattler.

He couldn't catch a cold to start the season. If I was Moore, Delp would be the starter yesterday.

That went for the entire team, including the play calling.

He’s certainly got the straight line speed. Doesn’t have the fluidity and change of direction like Bowers. Makes you wonder why he fell so far CW? Bowers led UGA in receiving three years in a row. Delp was 6th and 5th on the team once Bowers left

Johnson nor Noah Fant are long term answers.

Look, I’m not a huge Juwan or Fant guy. But neither one is even 30 yet, and Juwan has a near 900 yard season to his name and Fant has a few years flirting with 700 yards. Juwan is a converted WR and Fant is one of the most athletic TEs of all time. We are getting way ahead of our skis with Delp

That's why he fell so far.

Despite being on a team that certainly wasn't afraid of featuring a TE, and only had one really good WR (Branch) over the last two years, Delp's production didn't increase once Bowers was gone. He had about the same level of production as a backup behind Bowers as he did as a two year starter.

The measurables and athleticism are there. They just haven't translated into great production yet.

JJ was a top 10 TE last year and 80% of this board would have been estatic if we signed Fant to be our TE1 a few years ago as a free agent. Would prefer 1 badass TE but a duo of JJ/ Fant is honestly somewhere between above average to elite. Closer to "above average" but definitely higher.

The kicker is that Delp is viewed as an elite blocking TE and that should get him on field quite often. His blocking can open the door for more snaps and good blocking opens the door for play action + other schemes. He definitely has a path for higher production.

Juwan might not be the complete package at TE, but he had a HELL of a year. 77 catches and 890 yards is nothing to sneeze at.
