How would you approach pre-season games with our QB's?

Clearly not going to rest either of them. More reps the better. Do you alternate starts, or if you think Rattler is the guy, do you let him play the whole game?

One start each, both play 1.5 quarters. Make a decision after game 2. 3rd game 2nd string and Haener each get a half.

I believe CKM said Ratt and Tyler will split equally till one can separate from the other. I think the 3rd QB maybe a vet cut from another team.

I'd change that to they each get 1 start, but they play the entire 1st half, then the first series after halftime. Let them work through some adjustments and see how they respond. Let the other guy get 2-3 series for reps, then Haener closes out whatever is left.
By G3 I think you need to have your decision made on who the W1 starter is so the team can plan accordingly. Therefore, you game plan the last preseason game knowing who your guy is and knowing what reps he needs to prepare for the season

I would give rattler and shough all the reps
Let each play a half of each game
I've seen enough of Haener that indicates he's not even a capable backup
Put Dekkers on the practice squad

Let the competition play out and hope the OL doesn't get them killed.

I'd play him too. he could be the dude just as much as the other 2. Haener needs to bag groceries.

Dekkers announced retirement other day

If you think you have your guy, just like you would with any starting QB. Now that can vary per coach, and this is a situation with a guy who has little or no NFL starting experience, so I suspect he may get more playing time, whichever you tab as your starter.
If you have not selected a starter, then start one game 1 first half, then game 2 in the second half, and then vice versa for the other guy.
Honestly, I think it will be Shough, but it would be easy to understand if it goes Rattler.

This will definitely be the most interesting Saints preseason ever
The team is horrible, but at least the preseason games will have a lot of meaning because we have a roster of mostly marginal and inexperienced NFL players

A rookie and a 2nd year player?
Clearly they wont.

Rattler is QB1…
No matter who starts, the absolute best case scenario before the bye week is 5-5 and I think they want to avoid Shough having a rough start and possibly needing to sit him because he’s not ready yet.

Game 2 is now "the" preseason game, so it will be interesting how they approach games 1 and 2.
If I had to guess they will start Rattler game 1 since he is "ahead" in the battle, but want to give Shough the start in game 2 since that is extended action

I feel like Game 2 is the game also. It's sort of a disadvantage to game 1 QB because everybody is getting used to game speed so there are usually issues with that. Then come week 2 some of those things are ironed out and smoother for the next QB

No he didn’t. That was the tight end Holkers. Jesus

I would give Shough 100% of the first team reps and every rep in preseason. Get him as prepared as possible to start

When has a QB played the entire game in preseason? Never. Get lost.

Drop the most talented QB into the fire...it's not Rattler. We've seen him play already and he could get better but....
Shough has Drew Bledsoe potential....our OL will give us a chance, great play calling and a chip on teams shoulder will help us look competitive at times.
I'm optimistic for the OL and QB but our WR group is the worst group in NFL. That's sucks....

My prediction is we go 1-3 the first 4 games, rattler is mediocre and shough gets the start game 5 at home vs the NY giants.
