You know that means absolutely nothing right? You only think it does because the idiots on ESPN made it up years ago. They completely manufactured a measurable so they would have something to criticize and talk about for 8 hours during the draft

Do you actually believe this?

What if they were wrong? What if shorter arms on a person could sometimes actually be advantageous?

Show me all these players with similarly short arms who made it an advantage

You do realize there is historical data on this which is why the variable matters and not ESPN... right?

And BTW, people are proportionate. So there’s no way two guys who are the same height, have an appreciable difference in arm length.

Holy fricking shite

Half his stats are during three of the four playoff games. That screams inconsistency to me.

people are still saying this lol?

Pressures matter too. Look at his pressure numbers by game; there was never any inconsistency with him being disruptive.

Watch the video I posted. It talks about how is size is in the 1 percentile, like freakishly short and discusses how it shows up on film. He basically is a bull rusher and if he has to make another move he can’t because his hands are too small to pull/push and he gets stunted.

Super smart and technical player…just very physically limited.

Every time I think about the Saints drafting an Edge/DE I think about Davenport and Turner. Maybe we should sit out on that position for a little while longer and get another position of need?

Can’t let past failures dictate what you do in the present and future. Plus that was the Sean Payton era.

There are hits and misses at every position.

For every Davenport, there is a Will Smith. For every Penning there is a Ramczyk. For every B. Cooks there is a MT13. For every Sullivan there is a Rankins. For every Molden there is a T. Porter. For every Irv Smith there is a Jimmy Graham.

You gotta get out of your feelings on these things.

It’s measured and recorded for a fricking reason

quote:

What if they were wrong? What if shorter arms on a person could sometimes actually be advantageous?! Maybe it gets them more leverage. Or helps them initiate contact and gain the advantage? It’s possible. Dudes can either play or they can’t.

There has been data, illustrated by scouts, showing that there hasn’t been anyone with arms that short be successful. There is a reason for that

quote:

So stop swallowing that gibberish and parroting what a bunch of talking heads say to fill air time. It doesn’t freaking mean anything!

I don’t “swallow” it, I have watched Bain myself and while I think he is a GOOD college player, and wouldn’t mind him in the 3rd….. I absolutely wouldn’t want to risk a first. He did not strike me as a top 10 pick

quote:

And BTW, people are proportionate. So there’s no way two guys who are the same height, have an appreciable difference in arm length.

WTF are you talking about

Obviously you are Bain’s agent or a family member……don’t worry your meal ticket will get drafted in the 1st

He seems like a hard worker, and I hope it works out for him……but I don’t want him drafted here, because he HAS a much higher bust potential (with those factors discussed) than other prospects being looked at.

With a top 10 pick, you need the best chance of hitting on that pick. A bust here could severely set back an ascending team for several years

Hopeful Bailey and Bain do everything at their pro day. There appears to be unanswered questions for Bailey as well with regards to his change of direction and bend

Bain doesn't have the get off that Bailey has but he certainly is more physical.

that is what jumps out to me when you watch them play.

Bain’s pro day is tomorrow and Bailey’s Thursday. Hopefully they don’t duck any drills. It’s not the sexy one but the 3 cone will be interesting to watch for both

A lot of the scouting department has been turned over since Payton left. Obviously the figure heads are still there (Ireland and Loomis), but most of the people doing the leg work are different

just a causal take

QB's kept clean complete like 73% of their passes vs 48% when under pressure. If affects the game tremendously.

QBs that are sacked complete 0% of their passes.

Winners win. Losers make up statistics to make themselves feel better.

I want a winner at 8.

I think Bailey is a little too one-trick pony. He could be great but I want a safer player. The spread between his ceiling and floor is too great for me.
