I for one would prefer a non-internal hire but this wouldn’t be the worst case for the Saints. This dude seems like a beast and when Kubiak has his players he is a great coordinator.

I’m good with it if they make the playoffs.

I wouldn’t go this far yet, he is good for sure…..but he has still struggled with adjustments once things go wrong (especially in the run game).

He did a better job in that regard though

I like him ,kind of a poor man’s Dan Campbell. The players seem to really respond to him

Not opposed but you at least have to reach out to Ben Johnson and he may have no interest

Gotta see more of rizzi against better competition than we have seen today, he needs to beat the rams or commanders. Ive let it be known i like kubiak as a playcaller for this offense.

I would contend that Dan Campbell was a poor man’s Dan Campbell until he became the current Dan Campbell. I think we all want Ben Johnson, but if we go the rebuild/cap resetting route, Rizzi would be a nice glue for that. IMHO.

Let’s not fall for the interim trap

You think the raiders are thrilled currently with Pierce ?

Gotta love the energy from Rizzi. What I don’t know is his X’s and O’s Knowledge . How’s his game planning skills? If he is legit then give him consideration.

I contend Dan Campbell is just Dan Campbell. Not even sure what you’re trying to say here. You can’t be a poor version of yourself that hasn’t happened yet.

I agree with this too. It really is a trap usually and my take is if Mickey decides to gut the team (he won't) then I'm on board. If Mickey thinks can really win big soon, we need to go outside.

But still, my money is going to be on Aaron Glenn.

The Saints need a bridge head coach while the roster and cap get cleared out so, sure.

Can they also take control of the draft away from Loomis?

I think he should definitely get an honest interview for HC, but I also think the Saints should turn over every rock then fine to look for the best possible HC. One thing you can not deny is the players are 100% behind Rizzi. I'll be interested to see how they handle losing. Do they rally mentally or fold and get a here we go again mentality.

Regardless of who they hire half of this board will say that's the best they could do because no one wants this job.

I'm also very worried about Loomis being the decision maker on this next hire. Hopefully now that Gayle has stepped up to the plate as owner Loomis will be operating with a level of oversight.

The thing to be very careful of in hiring him is now you give the guy input on the team he wants to build as a HC.

Even if he’s a “placeholder” like several have suggested you still have to build a team in the manner he and loomis are envisioning.

I’m not saying he’d be bad at it but the last thing I’d want is Mickey to go back to his tricks of pushing shite forward and trying to get Rizzi a couple of toys he really likes, it not work out, and we’re still just floundering with the cap when it’s time to get a new guy.
