I'm ok with the "associate head coach" moniker for KK ....DA finally has a competent OC which allows him more time for defense and administrative duties...its a win win for us fans!!!

I think we have 2 years of Kubiak until he gets a HC gig.

Idiotic post when a coach builds a staff and team starts season 2-0.

DA hasn’t proven he can consistently be a winning coach. This is his chance to change that. He has every chance this year. It’s all in front of him.

If Kubiak is successful, Allen will be the beneficiary, and Kubiak will get a head coaching job somewhere else.

Idk about that. That is what got the saints in trouble with Carmichael.

You go grab the best guy that runs the same offense. You don't just blindly promote janocko.

As far as this thread

You keep da running the defense and team if the offense is rolling like this. Da has been pretty good at finding players on defense and coaching a top 10 unit most yrs.

Theyll never do it, but if this leads to a deep playoff run, they should absolutely hire kubiak and force allen to resign. But i know that would never happen

Why not just hire another klint Kubiak from Shanahan

He also brought Rick Dennison and benton with him. They need to get some credit. The o line is playing lights out in this system. Kubiak's little brother is coaching offense for Kyle this yr.

Why? You have no idea what kind of head coach Kubiak would be. Give DA his flowers for what we’re seeing so far.

Me? I could give a frick about Payton. I hope the Broncos go 0-17. And if you read my 2nd post, you’d see where I said I really liked DA. I wanted it to work out for him. I like him as a person, but also I realize he’s an elite DC that consistently puts great defenses on the field every year. But that hasn’t lead to us being a good team the last 4-5 seasons. I think it’s pretty apparent that a great offense is more valuable than a great defense in 2024’s NFL.

However, if you REALLY read my 2nd post, this thread wasn’t even about DA, Kubiak, or the Saints. Put them aside. How good could a team be, to get so much better from 1 year to the next with very little player personnel additions, that the only reasonable explanation was that it was the new OC and staff, and “get away with”—PR wise—with firing the HC in order to keep the OC from leaving? Since that is what it would likely take (in my hypothetical?). Didn’t the Chargers fire Marty after going like 14-2?

And just to reiterate, so I make myself very clear, I like DA, don’t want him to get screwed like the coach on my hypothetical would be, would love for him to win a Super Bowl, get a huge raise and extension, AND keep Kubiak for another year or 2 and run it back. I don’t think that’s realistic in that realistic scenario nor my hypothetical one. I think the OC would peace out for a HC job and a huge raise.

But, in theory, as a hypothetical, how good could the team’s—and HC’s—record be to be able to get away with firing him and promoting the OC? I just think it’s an interesting thought to ponder, I AM NOT saying I actually want it to happen. Certainly not after just 2 weeks.

Not always a great idea to promote a great coordinator. You possibly weaken yourself in both positions.

In a perfect world you convince them to switch places.

I’ve seen GMs make ice cold moves like this with players so why not with a coach?

If you lose DA it stinks but man I just think it’s easier to find elite defensive minds than it is to find elite offensive minds, it’s that simple for me. Of course, since the guy is in the building you need to make sure he's capable of managing players.

DA is pretty good on defense.

Hire a quality OC and let him do his thing...that's what a good head coach does. DA may be getting better at his job.

We’re 2-0 and arguably one of the hottest teams in the league right now but the top two threads on this board want to finagle some shite to fire Dennis Allen

Some of y’all are absolutely fricking mindblowingly stupid

12 teams right now average over 21 points a game. 16 teams give up 21 or less. So right now I’m right. All the stat searching I feel like doing but feel free. Oh yeah, check out a play sheet on game day and tell me who has a bigger one DC or OC.

I like the way you think, Hot Carl.

You’re getting shite on just like I did in my thread when I said we should promote Kubiak to head coach before someone else gets him. Lol
