Yep but it shouldn’t even matter the ball went backwards. Thats no different than throwing a swing pass back towards the RB and he misses it, its a live ball plain and simple

Shouldn’t have mattered it was a lateral pass if you say his arm is going forward. It went behind the LOS

This call and review are brought to you by DraftKings.

They had conclusive video evidence into Goff’s brain that he really intended to throw the ball downfield.

Therefore the call on the field was overturned.

What’s so hard to understand?

It’s worse than a swing pass, the call was his arm was going up with possession of the ball and he intended to throw the ball forward. They aren’t even arguing the direction his arm was going, just that it came out after he started the motion since his arm went up

Yep.

If the ball came forward, you can say incomplete pass instead of fumble. But the ball didn't go forward.

He got the pass off, but it was a lateral (backwards pass). So, live ball and score.
Despite what some troll a-hole might say.

Awful call, we're going to hear it was messed up this week but it's useless after the fact.

It was a damn fumble, a recovery, and a TD. The ball was jarred loose.

The LOS has no bearing on this situation. It's whether the pass travels forwards or backwards from the QBs release point. This one obviously went backwards. The NFL just made up a rule.

Yep that's when I quit watching and why the NFL is unwatchable. I knew that play would cost them the game somehow. It's what the NFL does they want the game entertaining to keep you interested but ultimately they control the outcome

Yeah but he intended to throw it forward, beyond the line of scrimmage! They asked him and he confirmed!

The only reason his arm went forward was because he got drilled in the back and whip lash. It was a terrible terrible call

If not a fumble its a backwaed pass regardless of intent.
Hell im sure Goff had the intent to complete the pass I guess we should call that shite a catch????

frick that ref and anyone in New York who approved , better yet called it. This was not a Detroit challenge this was a auto challenge from Hq
