I’ll take they were the 2nd best defense in the league because they only gave up 184 yards a game. I know there are reasons the numbers were low, but it fits my argument

Goff was a top 3 QB in the league the last half of the season. He was not meh at all..
Goff 2022:
Yards - 4438
TDs- 29
Int - 7
Cmp - 65%
That’s 6th in the league in yards and TDs and the people ahead of him in TDs all had double the INTs. The Lions were playing as well as anyone the last 10 games of the season and he was a huge reason why.

How does your argument reconcile being 7-10 with the 2nd best defense? Don’t blame Dalton he had a serviceable QBR.

It's painfully obvious people on this board don't actually watch games outside of when the Saints play.

Because it was in direct response to another poster cherry picking stats to claim the defense was 28th, by only focusing on the run defense that was actually 24th. But you decided to ignore that part to call out my response?
Flip side is it actually could happen. Hell, the Chargers were 8-8 or 9-7 with the #1 defense & #1 offsense one year.

Problem with this argument is Goff has a history of doing this. He'll put a string of games together that show why he was a #1 pick, then you get the WTF Goff. This was very evident in 2018 when it came out that McVay was giving him the checks at the LoS. So, naturally a lot of people will be hard when judging Goff and will severely undervalue him.
