1. We can agree that Carr on the Saints roster, we go at least 10-7, 11-6 and win the division.
2. We cannot trade up to 1-4 spot to grab a top 4 QB (certainly not the 1 or 2 spot for Young or Stroud)
3. You gotta pay your QB. Mahomes getting $50 mil sets the bar. Wait till you see Burroughs or Lamar Jackson’s K. Carr is a steal at $37.5
4. Been beaten to death, but what starter is better in the NFC? Jared Goff? Kurt cousins? Maybe Jalen Hurts. All the good/ great qbs are in the AFC.
5. You play to win today

Reportedly, Carr had long Covid in that game.

There are likely 8 better QBs in the NFC than Carr.

I’m not the biggest Carr fan at all, but that’s such a dumbass point to try to make, for so many different reasons

2012 with the Raiders he had Carson Palmer as the QB (22 TDs 14 ints)

2013 started 3 different QB's. Terrelle Pryor, Matt McGloin, and Matt Flynn (1 game).

2014 he had Derek Carr as a rookie. 58% completion percentage, 21 TDs and 12 ints. Allen was fired after just 4 games.

2022 had 2 different QB's (Winston and Dalton) finished 7-10.

So that is what Dennis Allen has had to work with in his time as a head coach. So, I'm just trying to find something to hang my hat on here as far as stability. Maybe Carr can be that guy but I'm not going to count on it.

definitely hope so though.

Yes. But in a normal year that’s probably 8-9, 7-10.

I think a big part of this that not many people are talking about is that this will help with the swagger of the team, I don’t think they got hyped and high energy like they did in the Bree’s era and having a leader at the QB position that you believe gives a chance to win will help dramatically I think. I also think we improved our most important position in the sport which is alway a plus.

Just off the top of my head....

Hurts, Cousins, Dak, Goff, Fields, Jones. There's arguments for Kyler Murray if he can come back from the ACL injury and Geno Smith would make the list if he has another season like the last one.

2nd poster I have seen say similar, and I don't get why Geno can be better after the garbage in NY, but Carr can't be better making a change from a different dysfunctional org.

Geno career stats: 62.8% comp%, 180.6 yds/gm, 1.03 TDs/gm, 0.77 Int/gm
Carr career stats: 64.6% comp%, 248.0 yds/gm, 1.53 TDs/gm, 0.70 Int/gm

Correct. He is making 60 million guaranteed no matter how you split it or pay him. 40 mil more if he stays all 4 years.

Jesus. You people are idiots. He’s essentially working with a 2 yr / $70 million guaranteed contract. 3yr / $100 million as long as he stays healthy and on the roster. The 4th year and the additional $50 million is a fugazi. It’s not guaranteed and it will never be paid bc he will either be cut or restructured long before then

Arguing Carr is better than Cousins or Dak or Lawrence is one thing but Hurts coming off an MVP caliber season is taking the delusion to another level

Geno went from shite coaching to good coaching.

Do we have good coaching? How is the board so quick to forget what our coaching situation is like?

I don’t see how anyone can argue carr being better than dak unless they don’t actually watch football to see why he had a bad last season.

And I would take Lawrence 10/10 over Carr.
Lawrence is 23 years old. Carr is 31.
