If Elon Mush had only moved his operation to Louisiana and not Texas.
Those opportunities were lost nearly 100 years ago when Louisianians (when NOLA was the 3rd largest city in the US) got addicted to politicians promising a chicken in every pot.

but the contract will require them to keep the team in New Orleans. The lease for the Dome ends in 2030, so they will have to renew that or have plans for a new stadium.
There is always a way to break contracts and leases. NOLA has to do its part and start electing leaders who give a little more than a flying frick about private sector business and Orleans Parish citizens.
Electing prosecutors and judges who protect victims and seriously punish criminals would be a basic first step for the city’s viability. If the city can’t figure that out, the Saints days are numbered. It might take a decade, but international markets or places like Raleigh, Orlando, San Antonio, OKC, SLC etc are real threats and better NFL markets.

You think the nfl will take the superbowl out of new orleans?
The Super Bowl comes to NOLA maybe once every 8-9 years now; used to be every 5.
With almost every NFL market having upgraded stadiums, keeping the Saints in NOLA solely because of a great SB venue is just not that important.

Nashville stadium isn’t that great plus it’s not a dome, which seems what the league wants to host super bowls
It’s been approved and will be constructed soon.

Where are they moving to ?
Grand Rapids, Tulsa, Greenville, SC, Omaha, and Tucson are now larger MSA areas than NOLA (which is down to 58 and should be in the 70s by the end of decade).
Might not move to these markets but there are several in the 20s that make much more sense for the NFL. If the city doesn’t improve its days as an NFL market are numbered.

The NFL wouldn't care?
So why is new orleans in the college football playoff rotation? Has Mardi Gras been canceled? Why is Taylor Swift having a 3 night concert? While New Orleans is a shite hole it's still a tourist destination and you sound retarded when you say shite like this...

So far it’s a wash with Gayle relative to the Mecom days.
I don’t want the team moved and even BigJ may say my concern is unwarranted, I just don’t like that idea and it’s been proposed too many times too often, including Tom.
Just saying.

They would fit great in Seattle as the Supersonics 2.0.

I don’t want the team moved and burying your head in the sand about the city condition helps nothing.
Payton left largely because the “franchise has no juice” his words meaning the city is a blip in Park Avenue NFL address circles.
That said, the city has a chance to right itself if it can wean itself off of LaToya type parasite leaders. Without better leaders the Saints are doomed in NOLA.
Personally I think the Saints would be better off elsewhere and have a better chance to succeed with a better owner and bigger market, but it’s not too late if the city can view its citizens and businesses as customers.

The Titans just broke ground on a $2B stadium to replace a stadium built in 1999. It’s gonna have a translucent dome
The Bills are moving into a new $1.7B stadium featuring a new canopy that will cover 65% of the seats.
The Bears will be moving into a new Lakefront stadium estimated to cost almost $3.2B.
The Browns are discussing an almost $3B stadium. The Chiefs have been kicking around moving out of Arrowhead.
So yes. Eventually she’s going to die and the new owner will want a brand new stadium. Nobody knows when but everyone knows for an absolute certainty that it will eventually happen. Will the state be able to answer the bell? Should they at least begin to prepare to answer the bell?

She might not care but she would be one of the hated people in LA and New Orleans history.

Just quit paying attention to TigerBait 2008. He’s a troll who only makes fun of other people’s posts and doesn’t offer any real explanation why. He doesn’t have enough brain power to make an original thought or post.
I’ve never seen him contribute anything that adds any value to a thread or that stimulates any further discussion.

People also choose to forget that Benson was very close to doing so if it weren't for Katrina and the efforts afterwards by Paul Tagliabue and Gov. Blanco to keep the team there.
This is 100% correct. Do yall remember how bad they treated season ticket holders at the two games at Tiger Stadium? Took hours to get in for both games.
Without Tagliabue and Blanco the Saints would be in San Antonio. There is absolutely nothing any of us can do about it, but the other owners would not make the Saints stay in New Orleans if the owner wanted out.
I no longer live there but I am suprised a small market like New Orleans can support two pro teams.

In order for an NFL team to relocate, it must be a UNAMINOUS vote by owners. You honestly believe Jerry Jones would've voted yes for the Saints to be in his backyard? No possible way. Tagliabue put a stop to that crap real quick. Until he takes his last breath, there won't ne another team in Texas.
