We are good with Carr some people gonna hate whoever you bring in so just bring in someone competent and stick with him for a few seasons see how it goes.

This isn't to crap on Carr

I get it. He is what he is. It's not his fault to an extent.

But if you told me before the season started

sign Jimmy to a whatever year deal it was with an easy out after 1

Or Carr to a 4 year and guaranteed year 2 restructure that kept him on this team for looking like 3-4 years based off a 1 year sample size

I would have rather signed Jimmy.

By week 6 Jimmy would have probably been on IR with out OL. Saints would have easily been top 10 in round 1...possibly top 5

After the restructure is finalized for Carr we aren't drafting a QB for at least 2 or possibly 3 more years

This year we might have had a chance at Jayden Daniels...no IMO for whatever that is worth not the QB Burrow is, will be, over the course of his career but an infinite upgrade to what we have or will have for years to come.

I am not a fan of Caleb or Drake personaly...but even in that spot with a team that is...you pocket 2-3 firsts plus additional capital to move out of that position for a team needing a QB...what is more valuable to the Saints right now? Carr or Daniels? Carr or multiple early day assets...

Someone will sign him simply because he's marketable and puts dumb female asses in the seats.

They should sign Garroppolo as a competent backup QB.

Well kind of but not really. Ideally you want a QB to wait a year to adjust. Some QBs can come in and play and some can’t.

Restructuring only buys Carr 2025. We’d be able to cut him after ‘24 with a low penalty now. After restructure it would be after ‘25, according to the article I read on it.

So you could draft a QB now (if one drops that you like) and sit him year 1. Then play him in 2025 and let Carr mentor him (despite what some of you think about Carr’s ability, he’s a good dude who’s been in the NFL for a long time) or draft one in ‘25 and let him go in ‘26.

The main issue is Loomis is ridiculous and just needs to stop punting money down the line. Both quantity and frequency.

Garropplolo is actually worse than Carr.

He has only ever been good in that Shanahan system

They spent less money on garapolo and were able to get away from him after 1 year. No one has a worse qb situation than we do.

Also jimmy is 5-2 in the playoffs and has taken a team to a Super Bowl. Carr has never won a playoff game. Downvote away but these are just simple facts.

Jimmy G would give us the possibility of a Taylor Swift hookup if things go south with Kelce. The NFL would then be willing to give us a helping hand.

Not so much worse that it really matters though.

Especially when you factor in cost.

I think a lot of that will depend on how they restructure him, and if they will need to restructure him again in 2025

But, if they restructure him for 2024, I think they will be forced to do the same in 2025. A restructure could force his 2025 cap hit to jump at least another $5M from $45.7M to $50.7M, plus his 2025 $30M salary becomes guaranteed. If they restructure him going into 2025, then to cut him after 2025 could easily escalate from $11.4M without a 2024 restructure, to over $50M when they restructure 2024 & 2025.

if Jameis leaves, I wouldn't mind bringing in Jimmy G as a backup.

He'll know this new system.

Didn't he have a good year to with the Patriots when Brady was injured?
