fricking right.

Did GW suck in the last seconds? Yes.

But he should have NEVER been put in that situation.

The BETTER team lost.

It doesn't matter if the turnovers lead to 1000 points... if we have the lead with minutes to go TWICE, only to play crappy defense and give up that lead TWICE, then it does not matter what happened in the first quarter.

The point of this thread is that Turnovers was not what caused the loss. If it did then we would have ended the game after the 1st half and said "well they won the turnover battle 5-0, game over"...

instead we go on to take a lead with what 150 and 100 left in the game only to have Greg Williams calling 10 man blitzes

Blitzing, and not putting to defenders on Davis on those last 2 plays is what lost us this game.

no, you are dumb. if it werent for the turnovers they would have scored less and we would have scored more. its a miracle that this game was even close. against gb or nyg, we would have been blown out with that many turnovers.

if turnovers are not important why does oh lets say 100% of nfl coaches harp on turnover ratio as the most important aspect of the game?

AND some "no calls" like the helmet to helmet before our fumble on the 2 yd. line didn't help us. No way we weren't affected by turnovers and ALL the points they made on those turnovers...

Wo.

5 fricking turnovers.
The defense only let the 49ers score 17 on FIVE fricking turnovers and yet, people still want to lay blame on anyone but Brees and the O.

This game's loss was single-handedly on the O. There is NO excuse to 5 turnovers, regardless of how good that D is. The D did as much as you can expect with 5 turnovers.

we had the lead with a minute left and Williams sucked it up.
This is it.

Fact is the Saints offense stepped up BIG TIME and won the game with under two minutes. But then the Saints defense turns around and does not make any plays and lost the game.

These guys (defense) snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

The problem was the ref missing the helmet to helmet hit on Pierre Thomas. That alone changed the tempo of the game and took 7 Pts off the board. Defense we blitzed too much instead of Gregg Williams pulling back and playing cover 2 or zone coverage, Alex smith was able to hit his tight end who had 180 yards and hitting gore on quick slants or screens. The turnovers were not a factor. Malcolm Jenkins getting burned should of dropped back and play zone and the play would of been 5 yards instead.

I disagree; IDK if it would have changed the game but that was clearly helmet to helmet.

We should of converted more on 3rd down. The season is over now and it's a new season next year, if we get home field advantage then we never leave new Orleans!!!
