Ok Lester I apologize you were right I was wrong it's not a penalty, but I think we can agree that it should be.

I agree with you. They should of flagged him for spearing at least. It's a shitty rule that needs to be addressed.

I should be a penalty anytime there is helmet to helmet contact but that's not how the rule states.

quote:I just read the explanation of a helmet to helmet hit on nfl.com and you are right and you are also wrong. The definition states that it is Illegal to hit a defenseless player including running backs but when a player takes 2 steps forward looking forward he is no longer a defenseless player and in Pierre's case he lowered his head therefore making it a legal hit.
Guys helmet to helmet hit is not a penalty on running backs, get over it.

We should of converted more on 3rd down. The season is over now and it's a new season next year, if we get home field advantage then we never leave new Orleans!!!

The problem was the ref missing the helmet to helmet hit on Pierre Thomas. That alone changed the tempo of the game and took 7 Pts off the board. Defense we blitzed too much instead of Gregg Williams pulling back and playing cover 2 or zone coverage, Alex smith was able to hit his tight end who had 180 yards and hitting gore on quick slants or screens. The turnovers were not a factor. Malcolm Jenkins getting burned should of dropped back and play zone and the play would of been 5 yards instead.

Way the hell does pointing fingers and booing do but break up a team and lowers morale on a football team? Did you ever stop and think for a minute about the student athletes????? Idiots like you are the reason the LSU A&M fan base is soo poor!!!!

LSU fans are such poor sports and ignorant. Go buy you LSU purple and yellow at your local dollar general while I attend UL and buy my vermilion and white from UL.

We don't know anything about college football huh? I'll bet that the Superdome was louder when Bret Baer hit the 50 yard field goal with 42,000 in attendance than the entire Superdome was cheering for LSU Monday night.

You get one loss on the schedule and you start pointing fingers, just like bobby Hebert in his unprofessional manner.

I listen to sports talk radio and I believe the message was that the entire LSU team didnt perform. Look at the LSU offensive line they couldn't hold a block for three seconds for Jefferson to get rid of the damn ball. If jarrett lee had played the outcome would be the same because he is not a mobile quarterback. When jake Delhomme was at UL he didn't have time to throw the ball but he made the best with what he had. LSU lost as a team, offense wasn't clicking neither was defense with "the honey badger". LSU was dominated by Bama in the first meeting in Tuscaloosa, so what they won, it was overtime and Bama missed multiple field goals. Simple fact is they weren't prepared for nick saban.

FYI season tickets are around $250. At least we don't boo our quarterback in the biggest game of his collegiate career on a 13-0 season. The problem we have is not with Louisiana State University but it's unruly fans. Yes you made it to the BCS title game and that is a big accomplishment but it's not a reason to turn on the team when they are losing 21-0. Those men played their hearts out and were treated like children. If UL had lost to San diego st we wouldn't boo them or disrespect them for their performance because they gave their all.

UL Lafayette is a name. It doesn't make us any more important than any other of the 120 FBS schools.
