10 mil guaranteed will make this deal a homerun.

With Loomis though, I fear the 15mil+

You're always rational.

I think he will thrive in this system.

Coby Fleener Saints deal: $36 million, $18M gtd, $8M signing bonus, salaries $800,00, $5.8M, $6.3M, $6.3M, $6.4M

IF my math is right, that's a $2.4M cap hit in '16

@FieldYates 20s21 seconds ago The Saints, with a tight salary cap situation for 2016, structured the deal of Coby Fleener so he carries a cap charge of just $2.4M in 2016

rotoworld take-

Fleener is a catch-first tight end, but has improved as a blocker. His Colts numbers were routinely held back by a timeshare with Dwayne Allen, but he's caught at least 50 passes each of the past three years. That will be his absolute floor in a Saints offense that heavily targets the tight end position. Fleener could easily catch 75 passes in 2016. His fantasy arrow is screaming upward.

18 gtd is a bit rough but the '16 cap hit is solid.

Brees should make him a pro-bowler, but I'd rather spend the money at G.

If true, $18 guaranteed Divided by 5 years (increasing annually)?
If so that is not a bad contract at all, salary cap continues to increase over the years this deal will look better by years 2 & 3. For a solid contributor, I like it even more now!!

No, the signing bonus is spread out evenly over 5 years. The rest of the guaranteed money is from the listed base salaries. We don't know which years it applies to. Typically the earlier seasons are guaranteed more heavily than latter seasons.

Minimum he would get is 3.6/annually

Not possible for that to happen.
