I didn't think he did at all from what I saw, and I was right. He was better at the end of camp but it was pretty obvious why the started the season with Rattler

You know we don’t have to be the farm system for Denver, right?

He didn't, and that is not why he started. Are you really doing this again?

Shough was better by the end of camp. Rattler was much better early, then they were relatively even, and then Shough was better.

I literally said on here, a bunch of times, that Rattler was going to start until around week 8 and then when the schedule eased up they would go with Shough. It was extremely predictable, and its almost exactly what happened.

They did not go with Rattler because he was "better". They were shielding Shough from the brutal beginning of the season and letting him learn on the sidelines how NFL games go. Its not anything new and was apparent to anyone with a brain what was going on.

You were wrong. Shough wasn't ready.

Ask yourself one question. Forget nick underhill saying rattler had a better camp, forget the math showing rattler was more consistent.

If it was even close, why would moore start rattler over the guy be drafted in the 2nd round?

Its a pretty obvious answer, and of course saints talk is getting butthurt over it.

Obviously not

I literally said exactly what was going to happen. I haven't argued whether Shough was ready or not. Just who was performing better at the end of camp.

I don't care if Underhill says something. Others thought differently, and I could see the difference between the two in games and in camp. It was readily apparent who was the NFL talent and who wasn't.

If that is true then Kellen Moore is the dumbest head coach in the league.

"Hey the rookie i drafted is outperforming the guy I didnt draft, but because the schedule is so so tough I'm gonna start the player that didnt perform as well"

Does that logic make sense in your head?

Doing what? Pointing out facts that hurt saints talk feelings? Sure.

Sigh. I am not going through this again. I have explained the position many times, and I predicted literally EXACTLY what was going to happen.

One can be performing better but perhaps "not ready" to start NFL games. It happens all of the time with QBs.

I am not saying Shough was performing light years better than Rattler. I think he was doing better and you could see the clear difference in NFL talent between the two. Otherwise it was back and forth and small differences.

There is benefit in a guy sitting on the sidelines, learning the speed of real games, how things go on the sideline, how certain situations are handled, how plays are called, halftime conversations, etc. There is clearly benefit to that because we see examples of it again and again and again.

And the defenses in the first half of the season were SIGNIFICANTLY better. You ran a great risk of Shough getting obliterated early. Instead, you let him build his confidence against some bad teams and now you are where you are. The fact that you can't see this in hindsight now is...baffling.

Thats literally just being inconsistent. Which is why he didnt start. If it was close enough he wouldve started day one, but he wasnt ready. Theres nothing wrong with saying rattler had the better camp. Because he did.

It literally isn't

I'm sorry you can't see it. I'm sorry that even with the benefit of vast hindsight, you can't understand what happened.

Im expecting a big Leap from Rattler this year.
Esp. During Pre-Season. Expect to see him look like a All-Pro.
Expecting growth from his position.

4 Days into Camp. The dude looks like a stud.

It might be crazy, but if Bo Nix is still hurt, they might pull the trigger for a trade.

Is this a joke?

Well Shough is clearly the better QB now and will be the starter. Only way Rattler sees the field is if Shough gets hurt. Idk why yall are still arguing about the two.

He's late and throws behind the target. This is a glaring, consistent issue. He doesn't throw with anticipation, cannot lead receivers, or throw them open. His height does not help him with these shortcomings either. It amplifies them.

Spot on and I think the underlying issue here is that he’s always been insanely more athletic than the completion, so he holds on the to ball way too long. It’s also why he was so sack prone in college.

That shite will NEVER work in the NFL. Mike Vick he ain’t, and Vick couldn’t win consistently because he relied on his athletic ability over his reads. He didn’t become more consistent until he was in Philly, but by then the talent had faded.

It was clear that early on last year Rattler performed better, but at the tail end of camp it clicked for Shough. The last few practices he was the better guy, but you’re 100% spot on. They were not going to send him to the wolves and Rattler had already taken snaps in the NFL.

Why do we care at all who out played who in camp last season? Shough won games and Rattler didn’t lol. That is all that matters
