Dude, Ozzy dies and Honey Badger retires.....this can only mean one thing...... that he's joining Black Sabbath and touring with Tony Iommi.

Yes.
The Honey Badger was one of the all time great Tigers but it was time.
It was probably past time but we had no one better to take his place.

1 down. Demario and Cam after the season.

All we need now is to trade AK, Hill, and Olave for picks. We are going to big time free agent buyers in a year or 2.

ML said that they had some advanced knowledge of his retirement so it was not a surprise (came up in the last few days)

He already took a substantial pay cut. Doubt there is much cap savings.

Not sure how much savings and/or returns that is really going to give the Saints.

They are in the early stages of the Dave Ramsey program of not taking vacations or ever going out to eat for a few years after running up a ridiculous amount of CC debt

Olave is still young and has been productive with two 1000 yard seasons out of his 3 when healthy. It's not like we're loaded at WR, so I wouldn't mind keeping him.

It’d be great to see him on the LSU staff.

Both are FAs, so safe to say this will probably be their fare well tour.

Hill's salary and current rehab schedule most likely make him untradeable for anything of value. Teams would essentially be paying $10M for him to finish rehab and hope he has enough left in the tank

AK may bring some interest, but teams have been undervaluing the RB position, and he just crossed the 30 and over club

Olave has value when healthy, but he needs to prove he can stay on the field before a team would give up and sort of legitimate asset for him.

Hopefully it's in 2 years. Give the roster time to fully purge these aging contracts.

He signed a 1 year deal for $4M guaranteed. By retiring, he loses his $1.5M guaranteed salary, but the question remains about the $2.5M bonus money. The team could choose to go after it, but not sure how that works in this specific situation. If they don't go after the bonus money: 2025 cap drops from $6M to $4.56M. His 2026 dead money is now locked in at $9.2M because of the running prorated bonus money. If they recover the bonus money: 2025 cap drops from $6M to $4.1M. His 2026 dead money is now locked in at $7.2M because of the previous prorated bonus money.

This louisiana heat will make anyone think about retiring. Training camp won't be easy especially for the older guys

Not worth paying him 30+ mil with the injury issues. Would much rather a 2nd or 3rd and an extra 30mil space.
