Maybe the injury to one of the current backs was worse than everybody thought

Bottom Line: Bush can't pass block worth a crap.....nice to have Deuce in there on 3rd and long.

No......have you ever watched Bush get owned when the other team blitzes? Noticed this before, but they had a highlight reel of his pass blocking foibles on the NFL network the other night. They even pointed out teams blitz more when Bush is in pass protection.

Its obvious you are just quoting what you heard or saw on espn and hardly ever watched a game this year....

1) Among our backs, Bush is the best pass blocker. He picks up the blitz better and makes better decisions. If you watched the entire season, you'd know this.

2) Teams blitz more with Bush in there because they don't want him out in pass patterns.

This. Either (a)Thomas is inactive, (b) Deuce is inactive and his signing is a PR move, or (c)Eckel is inactive and they want Deuce to play FB.

There is no way they can afford 5 RBs as active players tomorrow, so the best option for the three I listed is C, because signing Deuce because of option B is retarded. Just hope Thomas is healthy as he's our best pure back IMO.

Signing Duece is huge and he WILL impact the game, whether he starts, scores a TD, or just sits the sidelines in uniform.

His presence alone jazzing up the crowd will create a much greater impact on the game than the 52nd player who will never touch the field. And should he be able to punch a score in from the 1 yardline, well- the emotional momentum shift is just gonna be HUGE.

Classy, savvy move for the Saints.

I know Bush sucks. That's common knowledge. You said putting Deuce in the backfield for pass protection on 3rd and long. That part is seriously fricked up. You want to use a guy who hasn't seen the field in over a year (and the last time he was on a roster he didn't see it much) to protect the franchise's most important player. It's one thing for someone to say signing Deuce will pump the crowd up or signing Deuce is classy. It's fricked up to think you can put him in the backfield to protect Drew Brees.

Doesn't make sense. Hamilton is a special teams beast and Payton has talked repeatedly about the importance of special teams in the playoffs.

I like how much the signing has already energized the fans.

With the game and all the excitement and anxiety was already at a fever pitch, this just added fuel to the fire.

I think its just for a ring or a cheerleader, but so what? Lets keep that energy and excitement up all the way to Miami.

For 3/4 of the season we were the best team in the NFL hands down. I think that team is back, and now we have Deuce too!!

Now only if fans knew to be quiet during Saints Offesensive huddles and loud during TV timeouts we would be set.
