Shaughnessy started 19 games for the Cardinals over the 2013 and 2014 seasons and had 53 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble. He was a starter for the Raiders before making the move to Arizona and set a career high with seven sacks for Oakland during the 2010 season. The Saints have added several new pieces to their defense this offseason in hopes of avoiding a repeat of last year’s dismal performance. If Shaughnessy shows well on the field this weekend, he could get a longer stay as part of that effort in New Orleans.
