Kamara and 2 #1s and 2s should be plenty.

For #1 overall? It would take a lot more than that

And a few millions dollars since their owner is a cheap arse. Throw in Armstead.

Interesting thing I heard listening to WWL last night. Mike Triplett was saying it's very likely we will see a hold out from Kamara and maybe Lattimore. They're in the final year of their contracts and want to get paid. We knew a decision would have to be made next offseason with those two but this year with having all of our QBs hitting free agency plus needs at other positions i don't see how that would get done and things could get ugly.

How much could Kamara and Lattimore fetch in a trade if that were to happen?

I don’t see why Lattimore would hold out, he’s gonna get paaaaaaaaid.
I see Kamara being the Jimmy Graham scenario all over again.

The 5th yr option is pretty legit. I don’t see lattimore holding out. Kamara will absolutely hold out, if klutch doesn’t try to push him out of NOLA.

If I were Cincy I'd want Lattimore over Thomas because if Cincy keeps Dalton that's who's throwing to MT?

After the season he had, he has no leg to stand on for a contract extension. And seeing how easy it is to find a capable back, the Saints would be fools to invest big money into him.

Yup.

But this will not happen.

With our luck the Panthers will get him and I'll develop a drinking problem.

Not really. It would be if a reputable source came out and said the Bengals and Saints had been talking...but they haven’t.

Besides...why would the Bengals want Kamara, Mixon AND Gio Bernard who they just signed to a two year contract extension this year? Why would they want 3 running backs? C’mon guys Jesus

Fwiw I’ve seen multiple nfl guys say don’t be shocked it the Saints make a run at it

Loomis was in the dome for the NCG on monday talking to bigtime LSU boosters having this exact conversation, less the Saints players names...

Discussions about the Saints obtaining Burrow...

Many major trade agreements are actually done long before the draft, but the NFL does not want them announced until draft day to build maximum suspense and excitement. The deal between Green Bay and the Saints for Davenport was completed 5 weeks before the draft. I knew about this, but because of my involvement, I couldn't say. You kept probing me so I tried to mislead you until draft day. The talks between the Saints and Bengals are quite real and could get completed within weeks. Yes, there are multiple teams talking to the Bengals, but the Saints offer is the most interesting one for the Bengals right now.

There's only one hold-up, the 2nd player besides Kamara. If this goes through, you Who Dats will be surprised at how little draft compensation will be required. Cincy wants Michael Thomas plus Kamara. The Saints are currently taking the position that MT is off-limits. But Coach Payton told the FO, at nearly any cost. My sources are telling me if that holds the deal-up, the Saints will roll on Thomas and include him.

Brees knows he can't play a 19-20 game season with high effectiveness anymore. One of the keys for the Saints is making sure Brees is willing to stay one more year to tutor Burrow and step in if neccessary. That has not been agreed upon yet."

This sounds like complete dog shite.

I agree. Decisions are going to have to be made about some of these young players that are coming up to the end of their rookie contracts. Might be better to move some of them instead of losing them and getting nothing in return.

I think it’s very likely we trade AK and I hope we do.

There's always degrees of Truth.

Have/should the Saints FO contact the Bengals? Sure. What does it hurt to ask them what they would want for the #1? Did the conversation go any further than that? Probably not.

Which is not the same thing as reporting that they're going to. No difference between this and saying don't be surprised if Brees goes to go to the Browns because he played at Purdue (which actually happened). Random prediction that no one remembers if it doesn't happen, but which a reporter can dine out on for years if it winds up happening.

Or maybe there are further developments... we have a aging QB who is past his prime and rookies contracts that are about to get paid or traded...

My comment wasn't to debate. Just to tell you that this was discussed and that Loomis and The LSU boosters were locked in on this very conversation...
