He was traveling 35 mph over the posted speed limit.
Finally he shows a little hustle and gets punished for it

People go 90 in 60s all the time on the interstate.
They should spend week night in jail and have their car impounded for a year. Families are on those roads, and people who recklessly endanger others should pay consequence. Maybe Jeff Landry can make it law.

what do you mean by "residential".... there aren't people's driveways that turn off off joe yenni where he was radared. It was likely where its a dang 4 lane rd. Should be 45 in that stretch really.
Article I saw this morning said 1700 block of Yenni. That's the Fairgrounds and there is a house on the other side of Yenni where their driveway is on Yenni. Been a few years since I've been in that area, but I am sure there are several other houses with a similar set-up.
The article did not say if he was headed East bound (side with the houses), or west bound (side with Fairgrounds, Coconut Beach...), but you cannot argue that it is not a residential street. Also, whether or not is should be 35 or 45 is irrelevant, the speed limits are posted as 35.

I don't remember any player being suspended just for speeding.
How many times is anyone, let alone a player, arrested for just speeding. Usually, when you hear arrested while going 35+ over the limit there are other circumstances involved, accident, fatality, under the influence...
I am not suggesting that he needs to be suspended for this. Just suggesting that if this is something that could result in a suspension, get that shite out of the way now instead of having the new coach deal with it in 1-2 years.

For speeding and being cooperative?
I don't mean to be pessimistic but there's more to this IMO than is what was reported. some LEOs are dicks but simple speeding doesn't get you arrested anymore unless it's like triple digit racing. Could have been doing 100+ on the interstate but IMO they would have just said that if he was.
Wouldn't shock me at all to hear of him being suspended for something in the future.

To be fair they would have gotten him doing 36 in a 35

Some perspective. If you get off the interstate going 75 MPH to a service road, unless you drop your speed drastically on the offramp you are speeding by over 40 MPH. Would love to see where this occurred. At least it sounds like there's no substances onboard and he didn't go full resisting with the cop.
I read somewhere that it was on Joe Yenni Blvd in Kenner which is no where near the interstate.
I also love how not resisting arrest is noteworthy rather than the expected behavior from people nowadays.

In college I was pulled over for going 90 on Hwy 30 in St Gabriel (55 MPH speed limit). Cop yelled and me and told me I was an idiot and needed to slow down, but at the end of the night I was sober so he just gave me a ticket and we went our separate ways. Didn't know you could get arrested for that, usually it escalates to being arrested if you're swerving, under the influence, or try to flee/resist but it doesn't sound like any of that occurred.
Not familiar with Joe Yenni but from comments and looking at the map it sounds like although the limit is 35 it's more of a thoroughfare than a true residential road. When I think of residential I think of roads where people's driveways are, usually in subdivisions and stuff like that. It seems more kind of like how Bluebonnet is in between Burbank and Nicholson, that's a 30 MPH road but people speed through that stretch all the time, it's 2 lanes on both sides and entrances to subdivisions feed into it, not people's houses or driveways themselves. Feels like way too low of a limit.
I drive like a grandpa now as I got older, hopefully Olave learns and corrects his driving habits from this but while I can't condone what he did, I don't feel like I can judge his character from this and personally I think arresting him and suspending him is a bit much. Make him pay a fine and put a ding on his car insurance and move on.

Not residential, bro.
how is this not residential, bro? There are houses that actual people live in up and down that road. No it's not a back street with people's driveways, but it's not a commercial road such as Vets that is 45. People walk up and down this road quite often.
If you fools want to split hairs here, yall have at it. If you think comparing doing 90 on interstate to doing 70 on a non residential yet surrounded by residential properties road is a fair assessment then you are retarded.

Could be the..."shite I love the Saints and he's famous if I let him go with a ticket is it gonna look like I gave him a break"?
Or O was a arse. We will find out.

he was down the way from there around the fairgrounds area. The houses were on the other side of the blvd. There's a median in the middle, he was on the business side of the road. that road has been a speed trap for years. yes, 70mph is a bit much. dodge charger go vroom vroom.

Speeding and reckless operation are the same things?

Everything going downhill with the new culture of the Saints showing it's true colors.

As someone said earlier, we’re getting way too deep into the weeds with reckless/speeding and the actual area.
Saints have many more issues than a player driving in Kenner. We’re in a sad state bros when this deflects from the real issues.

Do you even Kenner bro?
I wouldn’t go 5 over in any Jefferson parish municipality

This might be the biggest who gives a frick story I’ve seen in a while. 70 in a 35 is just how you get where you’re going where I live.
