if it’s jameis, i think i’m keeping my season tickets because there is still hope for greatness with this era and a high floor with Jameis that you can live with. If we trade for Jimmy G, if this nonsense happens, I’m out in terms of season tickets are concerned.

Jimmy put up worse numbers with better players at the skill position.

How this is even debatable is beyond me. And his fricking playoff stats are atrocious

Last season (3 games):
43 74
58.1%
535yds
2td
3ints

What in the fricking world makes that worth trading for?

Not to mention - the most QB friendly coach in the league now that Sean is gone Ridiculous people are stumping for this dude

Did you just make that up? You mean most RB friendly coach in the league I’m sure. SF has a rush rate of nearly 50% in Garrapolo’s starts, top 5 in the league over the last 5 years. The counting stats aren’t going to be there like a guy like Winston who throws it 600 times a year

JImmy has an identical TD rate to Jameis at 5%.
Jimmy has a 2.7% INT rate to Jameis’ 3.3%
67.7% completion to Jameis’ 61.2%
Jimmy Y/A, AY/A, QB Rating >>>>>

Garrapolo has won 70% of his starts. Beat Rodgers 2x in the playoffs, as well as Dak on the road, Kirk Cousins. Led teams to the NFCCG and SB.

The real clown shite is dismissing Garrapolo and acting like Winston is some superior QB Like that’s the hill ya gonna die on huh? And I like Winston. But there is a larger picture you fellas are missing

Nice try. Last year he led his team to 23, 17, and 13 pts in his playoff games. The defense was far more the reason for them winning. You may say oh what about the 2020 playoff run where they scored 27, 37, and 20 pts? He threw for 131, 77, and 219 yds. He's a fricking bystander on that team.

Attempts plays a huge part into all of those stats. And I'd still say that Arians is a shite qb coach. As soon as Jameis got with Sean he had a far better td% and int%, with less talent at wr. He has shown the ability to improve and listen to good coaching.

And dude garrapolo is just straight injury prone at this point. Out of 65 possible reg season games to start the last 4 seasons he started 40.

There is nothing about him that makes trading assets for him better than resigning Jameis into a system he knows and adding talent back at the wr position.

Jameis completed 58% of his passes and averaged 178 yards a game but I bet you’re quick to say he went 5-2 eh?

Garrapolo’s career Y/A, AY/A, and Rating are all higher than any one season of Winston’s

What did you want him to put up with that shite wr room? One of those games his starting center and half the offensive staff were out due to covid/injuries. A boatload of defensive starters too which made us one dimensional way too early in the game. And he still had a far better td% and int% than Jimmy last year. With far less talent at the skill position.

Sean knew his wrs couldn't get open for shite and had vanilla game plans reflecting that. Jimmy had a top 5 wr and had a lower qb rating than jameis last year.

And again, you can ignore it but the dude stays injured.

If sf got anything better than a 3rd round pick from us I'd burn this fricker to the ground.

No, I didn't make it up. Objectively Shanahan is an amazing QB coach and has been at every stop, extracting far more out of his QBs than they are naturally capable of (sound familiar?). RE: the RB comment, you could make the same case for Sean, RBs have been the QBs best friend here since 2006.

I see your stats but IMO they are misleading. I have watched the guy - he is not a winner. He has been carried to every win he's got IMO. I'm not necessarily saying Jameis is the answer (though he has an NC ring at least and has seasons of actual volume passing-so he's a lot closer).

Trading assets for a QB who loses his team games and isn't a volume player isn't what I'm looking for personally. If we want a game manager we can go get one for $5m off the street in Teddy and probably do better honestly

I just don't understand at all why everyone doesn't want to trade for a one year QB with a 25 million dollar hit who's coming off shoulder surgery Who doesn't want more rehab news and questions? I sure want more.

both of them have had good track records of being a good teammate.

that goes a long way in my opinion.

i guess if it comes down to it, I'd rather Jameis.

he's been here and knows the system and would probably cost less money.

he's definitely got the better arm as well.

I would prefer jimmy over jameis
Money will be an option who will cost more ???? Will jimmy be cut or would we need to give the 49ers compensation?
Jimmy that beat the saints 3 seasons ago in the dome was great.
Look the saints should have a top 8 defense get Mt13 back get a oline that is healthy and we win the division. Unless the Panthers get deshun and keep cmac we should be the favorite to win the division. Atlanta is getting worse, Tampa is getting worse and the Panthers are hand cuffed at qb , just like us but Weare returning the majority of the starters on both sides of the ball.
We also win an extra game last season if our kicker is healthy.

Given the Saints' cap situation, and other glaring holes on offense, their best best would be resigning Winston. He'd be a bargain deal compared to a quarterback that led his team to the Super Bowl and the NFC Championship, regardless of the latter's health. Jimmy G is still going to command some serious money. Plus, the Saints had a pretty good start with Winston in spite of having no real receiving threats and a hodge-podge offensive line. Unless the guy has a complete melt-down I see no reason to move on from him just yet.

Honestly if it was an elite or slightly below elite QB I’d be willing to risk it. Like if it was Watson minus the crime I’d be willing to try it. But for Jimmy effing G? frick no

If he can be had for a 3rd, we would be idiots not to do it.

QBs are seriously overvalued. And, it's better to spend draft capital on a guy like Garrapolo who doesn't have a long term contract than to overpay for a long term deal on a substandard QB.

I'm afraid that the price for JG is much higher than you think.

Right. The one year left on JG's deal may actually be a better move for us given our current roster and cap flexibility down the road. You could draft a guy to sit behind him for a year, or just go into FA and the draft next year looking for a long term answer.

And if they're confident in Jameis, so be it. But dont feel forced into going there just because you dont have a long term answer

The saints have supposedly been working on a deal to bring jimmy g in.

Supposedly they are talking contract to get his cap number down.

Folks need to also remember you are trading for one year of Jimmy G at a $27 mil cap hit. Should also lessen his price but that contract will take some gymnastics for it to work for the saints

They would never trade for him on the 1 year contract.
