And dude garrapolo is just straight injury prone at this point. Out of 65 possible reg season games to start the last 4 seasons he started 40.

There is nothing about him that makes trading assets for him better than resigning Jameis into a system he knows and adding talent back at the wr positio

To me it would depend on the assets and contract.

Having shanahan and that defense have helped him.

Are the saints worried they will be stuck without a qb and that's why they would trade for jimmy or do they like him that much more than jameis?

Could also have to do with the cap. With the jimmy g contact they can just push into future years.

No one here knows those answers.

I think a lot of people are looking at this as getting the "QB of the future" today.

I don't see one via trade, FA's or the draft this year and I don't think CSP or the current Saints staff saw one either.

Perhaps we are looking for the best short term option that can help get us to the playoffs this year and address the franchise QB next year.

Heck we had two 1st round QB's on the team last year. What else yall want

Right. The one year left on JG's deal may actually be a better move for us

Absolutely.

If those are my choices I will take my chances with Winston.

Even with one of the best offensive coaches in the NFL he is mediocre at best and falls apart in big moments. He is not a proven winner

What's SF's record with and without Jimmy over the last however many years he's been there?

LMK, my dude.

If the cost of acquiring them were equal, I might go jimmy, but they aren't. Jameis with more picks is better than jimmy with less picks

SF has a rush rate of nearly 50% in Garrapolo’s starts, top 5 in the league over the last 5 years.

That just makes it less pressure for him because the offense doesn’t depend on him.

Garrapolo has won 70% of his starts. Beat Rodgers 2x in the playoffs, as well as Dak on the road, Kirk Cousins. Led teams to the NFCCG and SB.

Beat? Sure technically I guess. Yeah using the 5-2 start doesn’t mean much for Winston either but this is stupid too.

1st game against Rodgers - 11/19 131 yds 1 INT

2nd game - 6/8 77 yards

He was shite in both the Cowboys and Vikings wins too.

I don't understand why people would give away draft picks for a QB that's not as good as Jameis and can't finish a season upright...

I think Jimmy is better than Jameis, but I don’t want to sell the farm to get him, so let’s stick with Jameis.
