I hate blaming refs in a game, ever... but, Thursday Night Atlanta and 1st Half of the Minnesota playoff game last year, you will never convince me that the officials weren't trying to influence the game.

The article is just repeating what Payton said in the interview.

This lends weight to the argument that the league has had it out for the saints.

I feel like the NFL just wanted him in another, bigger market. He’s an outstanding coach.

That’s not it. The NFL (read:Goodell) can’t stand Sean Payton. In an article after Bountygate, Peter King said that the Saints organization had become insular from the rest of the league, basically doing things their own way....proudly. Goodell wasn’t having it anymore.

Well, yea. It was two dudes swinging their balls around to see who had the biggest. In the end, Goodell is the judge, jury, and executioner. Hopefully there is zero unspoken punishments that Goodell will give the saints for this interview. ha. I wonder who the two owners were? Kraft?

ETA - Post above is exactly right.

I didn't need to read no article to know Goodell's office can't stand our coach and our team. Part of why I can't stand him.

Case in point, you're fooling yourself if you think we were the only teams doing bounty pools.

Refs poorly officiate games all the time. There isnt some conspiracy against us.

However, the ex-falcon’s player getting added to the officiating crew last second to that game is definitely odd. Borderline bullshite.

That game was poorly officiated but we still had a chance to win at the end.

We know it was not Jerry Jones. Jerry and Sean are good friends.

Kraft, Mara, Rooney. Would probably be the only others with that type of power. But it could have just been two owners who were closer with Benson that the NFL used to try and persuade him.

I'd bank it's not kraft. New England, Houston, and San Diego are 3 teams who have good relationships with the Saints.

Sean and Bill are friends. But Bill and Kraft don't always see eye to eye.

As an owner, would you want your team to practice with someone you hate?
